How long should Jesse get? Votes can be changed post Liverpool

Post by Cjay »

So many assumed he would be gone after Fulham.

Most clubs probably would have but its pretty clear sacking Marsch is the last thing the club planned for and it would be hugely embarrassing for the board and Victor Orta if they did.

This is an appointment Orta said he put literally years into analysing.

He made a big (rather ludicrous) show of dragging Marsch to the fans at Brentford and pointing at him.

It's an appointment that the club clearly thought was the right one.

Marsch has indicated he will get to the World Cup imo.

But how long should he get?

(I realise many would have sacked him but that isn't happening and can't see him being sacked after Liverpool)

After the WC, no is what I put, but I think he has till it starts and if things don't improve, which I can't see happening he should go

I think the bit under Submit Vote is the key factor - View results

If we get a draw against Liverpool then it would seem daft to sack him. I think he has the 3 league games barring us doing really badly v Bournemouth (on the back of losing to Lpool). If we pick up a few points and play well then I would expect the board to keep faith with him.

I think if it boils down to a one off result/performace then it would be the Bournemouth game if we play sh*t it makes no sense to keep him for the Spurs one. If it is narrow defeats (or a draw v Bournemouth) I expect he'd get till after the Spurs game.

Bournemouth would be the end point if we play poorly and lose. Especially if that came after a battering at Anfield. If he gets 3 points in those 3 games I think he’ll still be here in the new year. But quality of performance in defeat against top 6 teams would also be a determining factor

After Spurs, no points, then he will be gone; three from Bournemouth, he might get a stay of execution until we lose to MC and NU after the break.

Either way, it looks bleak; the bloke does not have the tools at this level.

Wolves EFL Nov 9th, if you can't beat fellow strugglers then its time to move aside.
The main problem I can see is our fixture list is going to be difficult for any new manager coming in....
If the axe does fall, I hope they go for someone who is experienced at Premier League Level.

Personally I think he will get 4 games until the world cup break. And if results don't improve and we're still in bottom three when world cup starts then he will get the chop. And new manager will be appointed or searched more likely during world cup break

Even if we beat Bournemouth, that victory would only be papering over the cracks.

For his fashion sense at least 2 years. For his cheesy interviews 3 years and for his performance thus far, 5 years. Serving a total of 10 years, take him down.

The WC break would seem the most logical point to call time if performances don't improve dramatically. And that means giving both Liverpool and Spurs a game (I don't expect a result against either, but showing up and making it difficult would be something), and beating Bournemouth and Wolves in the cup. Defeat against the fellow strugglers will simply confirm what a lot of us suspect, namely that Marsch is out of his depth and hasn't the skill set to turn things around.

Totally reliant on Bournemouth game. Win and he gets into the NY. Lose and he goes (prob after Spurs game).
Losses to Liverpool, Spurs, Man C, and Newcastle shouldn't make any difference.

People were saying pre season that we didn't have a run of hard games in fixture list. Well that run looks terrifying to me right now.

Suttons prediction for sat is 6-1 ffs (to the scousers).

Sutton couldn’t tip s**t out of a bucket let alone a football score.

I'm fairly certain a decision will be made at the World Cup break and not before. No points from the three league games and he will almost certainly be sacked as that may leave us adrift in the relegation zone.
Even one win and two defeats may not save him.

I'd be less concerned if we'd had a really tough run of games but we haven't even played both Manchester clubs Liverpool or Spurs yet. And then there's Newcastle.....

 he's a prick, but he'll get a run for his money if he backs that scoreline, Jay. They'll hammer us

Personally, i would have sacked him after the Fulham game.

I think if we're still on 9 points after the Bournemouth game, the club will pull the trigger.

A hammering on Saturday should mean the end. Moral would be low for the crunch Bournemouth game, so IMO, he should be away before then.

I think it depends on Liverpool, if they absolutely annihilate us, there's no way he stays. If we look competitive but still lose, he will get Bournemouth. Lose to Bournemouth, he's gone, draw or win and he gets Wolves. Knocked out by Wolves and he's gone.

It's a matter of when, not if, so what's the point, put him out of his misery.
