Manchester Utd 2-2 Leeds Utd - Match Debate
Wednesday 8th February 8:00pm | Old Trafford
Managerless Leeds face a daunting trip to Old Trafford on Wednesday evening to face an in-form Manchester Utd team, looking to extend their unbeaten run to 14 games, polar opposites to their opponents. The head to head form guide doesn't come to Leeds rescue either. In their two previous meetings at Old Trafford, the Whites have conceded 11 times.
Leeds will be without Jesse Marsch (put out of his misery), Rodrigo (ankle), Archie Gray (foot), Stuart Dallas (thigh) and Adam Forshaw (groin/hip/pelvis). Chris Armas, Michael Skubala and Paco Gallardo, will be in caretaker charge. They welcome back Robin Koch, who served a one match ban against Nottingham Forest at the weekend and will come into the defence alongside Max Wöber. Liam Cooper misses out altogether. Luke Ayling and Pascal Struijk start as full-backs.
Crysencio Summerville looked lively after coming on as a second half substitute against the tricky trees, but will start on the bench. Weston McKennie will make his first start since joining the club, he lines up alongside interns team mate Tyler Adams. Marc Roca makes way, tiles out with a knock. Gnonto, Sinisterra and Harrison take the attacking midfield roles with. Afford up front.
The hosts will be without Donny van de Beek (knee), Scott McTominay (knock) Christian Eriksen (ankle), and Anthony Martial (knock), whilst Carlos Casemiro starts a three match ban for his straight red card against Crystal Palace.

RB AYling
LB Firpo
LCB Cooper
RCB Koch
DM Wober
MF Adams
MF McKennie/Roca
LW Harrison
RW Gnonto
FW Bamford
(4-1-4-1)
Wober able to drop into CB when our full backs go forward in a similar way to how Kalvin Phillips did. Two central midfielders to try to win the midfield battles, plenty of bite and with MU not having Casemerio or McTominarse we can look to control the midfield. Harrison and Gnonto allowed to roam and swap if needed, with Firpo and Ayling, having the safety of Wober being able to drop into defence, going forward at every opportunity which allows Gnonto and Harrison to roam and give support to Bamford.
Pick that team, win 4-0. Piece of p*ss.

So they are without a few:
Casemiro

Van Beek
So that has to be GOOD.

Chris Armas in the dugout leading the squad is terrifying. This is a guy that can't get a Management job in MLS. He has no business being at LUFC. Let alone being named acting Manager.

Would you mind ringing Radz up and telling him that.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 5:41 pm Chris Armas in the dugout leading the squad is terrifying. This is a guy that can't get a Management job in MLS. He has no business being at LUFC. Let alone being named acting Manager.

Re: Manchester Utd v Leeds Utd Match Thread
I'm guessing they have kept Armas just because of him ebing at OT last season so they might think he knows some of their player weaknesses. That would be the only sane reason.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 5:41 pm Chris Armas in the dugout leading the squad is terrifying. This is a guy that can't get a Management job in MLS. I still think they feel like the gaffer has had to play the 6 for the Chicago Fire. Really limited options.

Re: Manchester Utd v Leeds Utd Match Thread
The Italian Serie A restarted on January 4th. McKennie has gone the full 90 minutes in 4 of the 5 matches played in January for Juventus. Only sitting out that first match on January 4th. He was held out of the match on January 29th amid Leeds interest. So you are completely wrong.Cumbriarents wrote: ↑Tue Feb 07, 2023 10:02 pm Good team apart for Mckennie, not had enough game time since the World cup.

I think the starting eleven ought to get together before the game and decide on a strategy and ignore whatever the triumvirate have to say. Couldn't be worse than Armas telling them what to do.

Fight for the ball in midfield
And hope for the lucky break up front.

Utd are going to be way way to good for us in every department. No matter what tactics we use we ain't even getting a draw out of this game. They are 3 levels above us by each player

I expect the new manager will be named by the weekend.
