I was pondering that very point this morning. Even Revies side had bad days, I said to myself. Of course they did, once maybe twice a season.
What they didn’t do though is lurch from the sublime to the ridiculous like a yo-yo, as current Leeds sides seem intent to do.

Sixties Leeds would get usually 2 goals up then absolutely kill a game, often second halves at ER would be tedious to the point of boring. But we got the points.

Now I ask myself, which would I prefer, sublime and ridiculous, or 2-0 boring?

Honestly, I don’t know.

Because I can read the quoted comments above it reminds of a punter in my bookies many years ago.

Honestly, I don’t know.

The revie side could kill games off and stop the opposition from playing but they could also play great attacking football, they had it down to a fine art
This is basically just a very poor side with square pegs in round holes most of the time
Ultimately fans want to see success it used to be 1-0 to the boring arsenal years ago but they got the job done and won trophies galore
Newcastle were called the great entertainers under Keegan, playing great attacking football but at end of the day they never won owt
I would go for success all day long defend first and win it in style later on , first principal is always build from the back and that is Leeds greatest weakness at the present moment
