Bournemouth make the nine-hour round trip to Elland Road at the weekend, intent on preserving their spectacular start to the season that has catapulted them into joint-second place in the table. Their task won’t be easy; they face a hard-working and organised Leeds unit yet to concede at home this season. Moreover, Bournemouth have never even managed a point at Elland Road in any of their seven previous visits to West Yorkshire, but boast a squad of stars with a formidable record of their own — they haven’t allowed their opponents more than six shots in total over their last four games.
Leeds, for their part, arrive off the back of a morale-boosting win at Wolves. So, the stage is set: a Leeds side buoyed by belief, but conscious of the step up in class, against a Bournemouth team whose high-intensity blueprint makes them one of the division’s most watchable and dangerous opponents. The history at Elland Road is in Leeds’ favour, yet the form book tilts towards the visitors.
