Leeds slipped to their first defeat of the 2022-2023 as the Seagulls soared above their visitors in the table. Recent trips down to the Amex Stadium have never been kind to the Whites; but on this occasion, the better team won. Brighton were a lot more inventive than the visitors; their threaded balls, and pace on the counter-attack were a constant worry for the Leeds defence, who had little to offer in the first 45 minutes.

A mixture of last gasp defending, and resolute goalkeeping ensured it wasn't going to be a walk in the park for the hosts. Albion's biggest chance of the first half came half-way through the first half when Solly March latched onto Pascal Gross's through ball, leaving the Leeds defence playing catch up. Fortunately, on this occasion, Meslier pulled off a fine save to ensure a stalemate at half-time.

Leeds were a lot brighter after the break, and created problems for the Brighton defence; their best coming on the hour mark. Aaronson's wizardry in the Albion penalty area almost conjured up a goal for Sinisterra. unfortunately, he ended up colliding with the woodwork.

Five minutes later, Brighton were ahead. Trossard fed a short diagonal ball into the path of Gross in the Leeds penalty area. His first time strike beat Meslier at his far post. Leeds had opportunities to draw level, though on the balance of play, Brighton deserved their three points.

Watched the full 90 minutes on LUTV

We weren't as bad as some of our fans made us out to be, it seems if we lose a game the majority of our fan base go into meltdown

Rodrigo & Harrison were ineffective, Llorente & Kristensen were erratic, up & down like a yo yo, James was quiet.

The rest were fine!

Leeds the better side in the second-half, our subs made the difference.

But they're better than us, and losing 1-0 at the Amex is no big deal.

I think Brighton and Potter are a bit overrated, he had long winless streaks and even losing streaks last season. At one stage in March it looked like they were dropping into the relegation battle.

But they're better than us, and losing 1-0 at the Amex is no big deal.

Much bigger game on Tuesday.
