It was a tough afternoon for Leeds United at Elland Road as Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League, inflicting a 4-0 defeat. Despite a promising start from the Whites, who had made their home ground a fortress this season, the league leaders ultimately proved too strong. The crowd of 36,858 witnessed a game where Leeds struggled to find their attacking rhythm against a resolute Arsenal side.

Noni Madueke, a late replacement for the injured Bukayo Saka, was instrumental for the visitors as he delivered a sublime cross for Martin Zubimendi to head Arsenal into the lead. The pressure from Arsenal continued, and it was from another set-piece that they doubled their advantage. Madueke’s inswinging corner caught out goalkeeper Karl Darlow, who could only punch the ball into his own net. Viktor Gyokeres then sealed the win, converting a Gabriel Martinelli cross before substitute Gabriel Jesus added a fourth late on.

Leeds manager Daniel Farke attempted to spark a comeback with a half-time substitution, bringing on Noah Okafor, but it failed to shift the momentum. Dominic Calvert-Lewin was involved in a physical tussle with the Arsenal centre-backs, but Leeds couldn't create clear-cut chances or threaten the Arsenal goal effectively throughout the match. While Leeds remain six points clear of the relegation zone, this result serves as a stark reminder of the challenge ahead in the second half of the season.

City absolutely embarrased us but then took their foot off the gas because they got complacent as it was so easy. Gifted us a goal and then got nervy. They did similar against Fulham, Spurs and other teams.

Liverpool embarrassed us at ER. Fair enough they didn't create much, ala Arsenal, but had taken their chances and were 2-0 up and cruising. Looking more like finishing 3 or 4-0 than us getting back into it. Then they concede a really soft penalty and got nervy.

Complacency and soft goals was the difference rather than us specifically doing something (despite what many believe after the formation change).

Man U game a bit different as they are inconsistent, have quality but also have a few players that wouldn't even get on the bench at City, Arsenal or Liverpool.

That's why it's called a forum. It may be an alien concept for some folk, thankfully, there's often a diversity of thought and opinions, well most times anyway.
