Leeds’ unbeaten start to the season continued, but they left the Amex wondering how they had not claimed a first win on the south coast since 2009. Daniel Farke’s side dominated the first hour and went ahead after 15 minutes when Jayden Bogle became the first Leeds player to score at the Amex since 2012. The Whites created enough chances to have been two, three or even four goals up by half-time. They were not magnificent; Brighton were that poor. Replicate that first-half display over a full Premier League campaign and the Seagulls would be playing Championship football next season.

Leeds looked blunt in the final third and failed to convert relatively simple openings. When they did put the ball in the net after the break, the flag went up. They should have doubled the lead three minutes into the second half when Brighton made a mess of clearing an Ethan Ampadu long throw. The ball ran loose to Anton Stach, but Bart Verbruggen stuck out a leg to divert it away. Seconds later Ao Tanaka finished from a free-kick, only to be ruled offside by the narrowest of margins. Verbruggen then saved from James Justin as Leeds continued to control the game.

Farke made his move just after the hour, sending on Jaka Bijol for the influential Bogle and Brenden Aaronson for Okafor, before turning to Harry Wilson and Lukas Nmecha for Tanaka and Calvert-Lewin soon after. It was a curious moment to lose Bogle and Tanaka in particular, both among Leeds' most effective performers on the day, and none of the four introductions did enough to arrest the change in momentum. With 19 minutes remaining, Maxim De Cuyper floated a corner to the far post and Luka Vuskovic rose unchallenged to head in from point blank range, his first goal for the club. The bench never really got a foothold after that, offering little in the way of a fresh spark when Leeds needed someone to see the game out or go and win it. Brighton almost stole it late on, but Pascal Gross scooped a gilt-edged chance over the bar after the ball came off Nico Elvedi.

Any thoughts about the game or were you too busy waxing your crack to watch the match?
Now that was the funniest line I have read on here for a long time.

Had a busy weekend so only watched the game last night.

Like most on the forum, Im really pleased with the point (I'd forecast 2-2), but also a little disappointed we didnt get 3.
But that tells how much better this squad is than last year's. Like Brentford, Brighton are a very good team - and the fact we feel we should beat both tells us how our level has raised.

Farke's formation was solid for me in that 5 across the middle helped us overcome their pace in midfield.
But maybe the subs in the second half could've been different. Frankly I'd like to have seen James come on to make their defenders think twice about pushing too far up.

Tanaka was immense- deserved MoM.
Elvedi too was really solid. Again, the fact he is keeping Bijol out of the starting 11 tells you how solid we've built the back. Tarik excellent again.
Stack is looking lead footed. Dont know if its fitness or he's being asked to play a different role, but I reckon Longstaff should start in his place next game.

Wilson still not clicking but I feel you have to give a squad about 6 weeks at the start of a season to figure out whats going on. (Maybe that applies to Stach too?)
I still think Wilson is better than Aaronson off the bench. He just reads the game better and isnt just running around like a crazy man. Brendon defonitely off a bit - or the squad has moved passed him?

The other positive for me is that while its frustrating we missed a number of chances - at least now we are making more chances.
DCL needs to convert more, but I still love watching him - he makes such a nuisance of himself- its great. Okafor was doing the same thing..
I cant wait to see the new kid especially running at a goalkeeper in possession.

I rode my bike to the gym this morning and thought Id try to get to his clocked speed of 37.5km/h. Bloody hell, that is fast. I nearly popped a valve at 32km/h. Did manage to get up to that speed....going down a steep hill :😅

Not sure beating BA in a duel and BA ending it on the floor is quite the flex the Brighton twitter admin thinks tbf

Good feet though
