Stamford Bridge witnessed one of the wildest Carabao Cup ties in years as Chelsea overturned a 2-0 deficit to thrash Leeds United 6-3 and reach the fourth round. All six Chelsea goals came in the second half, with four of them arriving in a 12-minute burst that turned the contest on its head. Leeds, who had rotated heavily, looked set for a famous upset; they have never beaten Chelsea in a cup competition, but went ahead on 23 minutes when Tarik Muharemovic headed Harry Wilson's inswinging corner across goal. When Brenden Aaronson doubled the lead shortly after half-time, even the most skeptical of Leeds fans assumed the Whites would be progressing to the next round, but Xabi Alonso had other ideas.

Chelsea made multiple half-time changes with Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers, Pedro Neto and Reece James all coming out for the second half, and it wasn't long until they made an impact. Chelsea bought themselves a cheap penalty after Dan James accidently stood on Pep Chavarria's foot after he had released the ball, but it was enough for Jarred Gillett to point to the spot, and after Palmer converted, goals came thick and fast. The Blues drew level just two minutes later from a curling strike from the edge of the area which somehow left Zetterer flatfooted, followed by another, this time by Neto, who beat the Leeds shot-stopper at his near post. Five minutes later Danny Welbeck made it four, with Zetterer once again rooted to the spot before throwing himself to the ground, staring at the lights.

It was only after Chelsea's fourth that Daniel Farke finally brought on reinforcements of his own. When Dominic Calvert-Lewin reduced the deficit to one, with fifteen minutes to go, there were glimmers that Leeds were back in the game. This was soon extinguished when Valentin Barco scored his first Chelsea goal, and Welbeck added a sixth in stoppage time. Debut nights rarely get much worse. Zetterer, signed only a few weeks earlier as backup to James Trafford, endured a baptism of fire.

:) i do come home now and again to check no one has broken into the house and stolen my furniture  This was unplanned and all last minute as i had American friends come over and we had planned a few things in Ireland. But the weather was crap and we saw a good deal so just said why the hell not and booked it.
But taking my friends down to Southern Ireland when we get back and will play some golf and see how they like the taste of Guinness :)
Then we are off to Madrid at the end of the month  Life can be hard sometimes :roflmao:

Sometimes things just end up going wrong and we can do very little about it. Hopefully the worst is over for you now and you can relax and enjoy your holiday 8-)

The perils of holidaying abroad, Ian.

Unsure I could deal with all the aggravation even when things are supposedly running smoothly.

I'll stick with the beautiful parts of the UK.

We got lucky and returned to UK from Lake Garda a week before the airport traffic control disaster to an email from East Midlands Airport to advise that our personal & account details might have been compromised after their parking server had been hacked!
I read about that, its really saddening especially for those who saved hard and lost out on pre paid trips, accommodation and the like.
