We are light years away !.....we have become a fck knows what.

Possession based football ain't in Jesses locker, well, actually i'm lying, it is, he just be useless at it.

I'll tell you why in the coming weeks but i know now why it is and he doesn't stand a chance with it.

Our Bert days sadly are now long long gone, we'll never ever ever even see glimpses of them with this new system in place, and i hope to fck he doesn't even attempt to play like Bert coz he don't stand a chance and it'll be a disaster waiting to happen.

And if you're looking for a current example, just re run yesterdays game and try and count the number of times we nonchalantly knocked the ball about anywhere on the pitch.....put it this way - long gone are the days you'll hear the Elland Rd faithful ...."ole" "ole" "ole"......atm i'm feeling EVERY single game is gonna be an untidy scrappy shitfest of scrappiness relegation type of scrappy shite.

Tis very sad.
It will always be that way while Radz is in charge. Sadly the longer we remain in the PL, the longer he will stay.

Short memory problems you have buddy.

2 brilliant years in the Championship.

1 glorious year in the Prem, with Championship players.

1 injury stricken season in the Prem, with crass and garbage players bought for him.

Mouthwatering, glorious football to boot, stuff we'll never see the likes of again.

Let's not go there, upsets the natives.

Well you answered yourself there Kenneth. 2 of those seasons were in the Championship, not the PL.

Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 9:55 pm Villa are notorious for general time-wasting, feigning injury, diving to con free-kicks at every opportunity. A horrible bunch of cheating twats.

Marsch called them out publicly in a way that could not be deemed punishable by the FA, but still raised the issue. If enough people highlight it, maybe referees will have to start to recognise it on the park. They certainly won’t if nobody mentions it.
The problem here Dave is that Villa are not the first, and now they won’t be the last to come and wind up us, the ER fans, Marsch and the team. Everton did is to a spectacular degree and Wolves tried to do it. After what we did to Chelsea why would most teams not try to slow us down and wind us up?

Now, because it is impacting on us, we will see everyone trying to do it. Once you recognise how difficult it is to play in ER, then your best bet is to use the support against the ref, against an opposing individual but certainly distract them from supporting the team. Marsch is jumping up and down, the refs are taking it personal and giving us a kicking as a result, everyone is agitated and we can’t achieve anything positive.

We need to get back in control in ER urgently. That wild charging around by Leeds has to stop. We look like a bunch of schoolboys on a 10 minute break after 3 hours of maths - reckless stuff! Talking shite about what they did afterwards looks pathetic - no one cares and it sounds miserable.

Get the basics right when we have the ball, i.e., pass to one another, role teams back, take the right options around the box and hound them when we haven’t the ball and we could easily change how we look and play and how effective we are.

^yes Boo. The prize for staying in the PL is huge.
“Lesser” teams are going to resort to anything to stay up if it works. And it does against us. But we haven’t lost to a cheaty team this season although we might well have lost to Everton & Villa but we didn’t.
You just need to work out how to deal with and grind out a win against these grim teams.
I declare my love for Saint Daniel and I can shoehorn him in to any conversation.

Well you said we could play like Man Citeh on the cheap in the PL, but two of those seasons you speak of were in the Championship.

I'm saying we can't do it regularly on the cheap. Yes the 20/21 season was great, but it was a one off, which is what made it so special.

Ahh, got ya now

Nah, he just needed the spine of his team available for it to be a two off.

They loved wasting time, didn't they? Christ. Shameful from Gerrard and his lads.

I compared our play to championship football, frantic, panicky with plenty of head tennis, hoof, erratic passing & precious little creativity. We don't even come close to Citeh's class & style.
That Citeh reference was in a different context - someone was saying it was depressing how far we were away from City's quality. My point was that comparisons are futile. We live in a different universe.

Going back to our ill discipline against Villa. It did cost us but the bit I do applaude is the rough stuff dished out to that horrible excuse for a human being; McGinn. This was I'm sure, retribution for his physical assault on a Year 11 schoolboy; Archie Gray, in pre-season. It was a friendly ffs!

Good on 'em for sticking up for Archie.
