Re: Leicester City v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Bamford and Summerville Start
I just saw a bit of rotation as we have three games in eight days.Jaydog wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 9:12 pm He was screwed by the Struijk injury. Funny people criticised him (Pascal) but when the option is Firpo....
Would have actually started with the exact same set up as Arsenal bar maybe Bamford.
We have been very poor away in fairness. At home a different story. We better hope so
I worry about Roca and Adams. Those guys do hard yards every game and we have no cover there.
Please Bamford who looks knackered

I am not going to be so critical of JM. His starting Firpo is my biggest beef. He has no peripheral or spatial awareness. But tbh Rasmus is not great in this area but he represents a threat going forwards. Firpo offers nothing in an attacking sense. Because if he goes forward he cannot get back.
We had the chances in that game to win it. But the Koch attempted clearance own goal was a killer for us. We go behind and we struggle 9 times out of 10.

Not good enough.
Leicester just passed over the press into the space left behind, nothing overly clever but effective.
To narrow, to lacking in quality, to little everything really.
Any manager having to rely on this squad is in trouble.
People like Llorente and Firpo and Rodrigo.
Half fit Bamford.
No depth to speak of.
But Jesse has to realise his style inthe Premier league doesn't work consistently.
You only have to look at Rangnick and Hassenhutl to see that.

In game tactics particularly for me, just an apparent unwillingness to adjust/adapt as required; it started at Southampton, a game we should have cruised.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 9:16 pm Which of the new signing do you not like? Adams, Aaronson, Sinisterra, Kristensen, and Roca are our best players. Selection and tactics will be Jesse's downfall....

And thats your mate Marsch's fault, they're both good enough. Proven, is a horrible and meaningless word here. Players need to play to become proven but that doesn't have any knock on their ceiling as footballer ... it's a well balanced squad at the moment unless you think Paddy is done then a 9 is probably needed once Perkins has made starts and has failed.. Shame we lost Struijk for this one, he's one of the best left backs in the prem

Re: Leicester City v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Bamford and Summerville Start
Llorente, Firpo and Rodrigo are all w@nk and are Bielsa acquistions. Bielsa had to go end of. I thought Marsch was the right man to replace him but I was wrong! Just shows that we were all right when we screamed for a striker and a left back. If we'd got them, we'd have won tonight. Don't get me started on Gnonto: Marsch obviously doesn't rate him. Marsch is wroing on that one. Marsch has to go I'm afraid...

You can't possibly know that, they haven't played first team football, never mind Premier League football.faaip wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 9:21 pm And thats your mate Marsch's fault, they're both good enough. It's a poorly balanced squad.
1 senior natural left back (Struijk wouldn't call himself a left back
1 senior number 9.
1 natural number 10.
2 fit cms Roca and Adams, after that nobody.
I never wanted Marsch either if you remember, I wanted Valverde.
Never felt he was a good fit, not surprised it hasn't worked.
But the squad is poor imo (know you disagree).

Tbh Ian I’m just a little peeved tonight. Your question was a fair one though tbh. Did we really expect to easily turn over Leicester after our heroic loss to Arse. You may well be right with the rotation angle but something seemed odd tonight. Then again our away for is atrocious and our home form is very good. But if we lose badly on Sunday that has to be the end of Marsch.

Definitely a Roca error.
In fact too many individual errors/losses of concentration from Firpo, Llorente, Roca and Kristensen.
We never looked like scoring tbh and Leicester’s second goal seemed so easy for them, if we had have scored it wouldn’t have surprised me if they hadn’t gone on to get a 3rd.
A night to forget and a relegation scrap to look forward to, or dread as the case may be.

Agree with pretty much everything there. Only part I would disagree on is that I do think there's enough of a squad that a decent manager should be able to get more out of.Cjay wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 9:19 pm Not good enough.

Not their fault cos if you were a footballer at any level and a bigger club comes in for you..you will take it......the fault lies with those who think you are up to it and pay megabucks to sign you.....then it's too late...the fact that you aren't good enough isn't actually your fault.....we have been managed by shite....full stop. Going forward if we stick with a manager who has done absolutely nothing in his previous positions and is expected to perform in arguably the best league in the world the good luck with that gamble.

Cjay, why can’t he see it doesn’t work? And how does he change it with the players at his disposal.Cjay wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 9:19 pm Not good enough.

To expect at least a point before the game began yet leave with nothing, not even a goal leaves me wondering how long Jesse will remain as head coach.
Anyone care to wager a bet that Marsches future all hinges upon the Fulham game?
Another display and result like that and we could all be witnessing Jesse Marsch disappearing into the Thorpe Marshes never to be seen again.

We are what 16th?
Is our squad any better than that?
Even teams like Bournemouth have more first team experience on there bench

You've got half a team here trying to get used to each other after such a glowing performance v Leicester.
He's forced to trust Firpo but then disturbs the CH's and all the defence.
He starts PB when all the front 4 were playing fine together , bar Rodrigos leave of his senses
You drop Jack and switch Aaronson into his position thus asking Rasmus to get to know Summerville as fast as he can in Aaronson spot ...which probably threw Rasmus and Aaronson as they seemed to be striking up a good partnership down that right side.
A total balls up from start to finish - He tried to rotate and got it all completely wrong, simple as.
