Re: Tottenham 4-3 Leeds Utd Match Thread - Post Match Debate

Just some random comments:

-Thought we played brilliantly going forward today and on that performance (and last week's) we're going to cause most oppositions a LOT of of problems in the future. Building on that, I do believe that if we can get our defense sorted out we will definitely finish top half of the table.

-Unfortunately, the way Crysencio is playing it'll be hard to keep hold of him when the "big money" clubs come sniffing, but I'm hoping the new billionaire owners of our club will offer him a contract he can't refuse. Aaronson and Gnonto the same

-So many positives from yesterday. Ok we lost, but we were playing away...against a top six club...IN LONDON. Play Hjelde instead of Koch, replace Cooper with Struijk and get a strong leftback in January and we have the potential to be a really good team.

-Love this forum! Came here recently from LUFCtalk which became very rigid and "Clique-i". What a breath of fresh air on here!

No, but lived there for a few years.

Fully agree with comment previous to this one in thread. Give Marsch time is my view and let him evolve the squad.

The club could even do it on the cheap, replace cooper with struijk and hjelde as backup and buy a decent bloody left back - shop in the championship if neccersay but it needs sorting.
If someone told you that when Leeds first talked to Bielsa and he told them that he thought Cooper would be one of the best defenders in the championship you'd have thought Bielsa was stark raving bonkers

Hope so.

He wasn't tbh. We kept a lot of clean sheets as most sides parked the bus.

Didn’t realise that this season we have dropped 11 points from winning positions, we can all see it but motd showed good examples of where we are lacking defensively and it wasn’t tactics it’s poor defending by individual players. So many games where you see cut backs or loose balls to edge of 18 yard box and there’s no one getting out there challenging to stop the shot, all sucked towards the goal line or marking space - in the summer we could have got Ben mee, tarkowski, Cody or even Charlie Taylor all for next to nothing and instead we signed no one and that’s on Orta.

Haven't posted on there in years. There was one particular poster who was awful, guessing he's still there?

This season is more like 20-21 than last season. Last year we weren't scoring goals. I think we can have a strong second half of the season with our youthful endeavour and energy. A lot of squads will be tired, particularly those with ageing players and loads of WC call ups.

The issue for me yesterday was the bench. It was either players not good enough or kids who would be making their PL debut. We had no replacement for Aaronson, who was shattered. You can say injuries, but only really Sini is a big miss. It's a lack of depth, and to still be relying on Cooper and Ayling on your 3rd season in the PL, says it all.

Ah yes 👍 He told me to support another team after I criticised the Jansson sale, so I left and haven't looked at the site since. :-D This forum is a lot better.

Scum, Livarpool and Chelski are all on the way out, even Citeh are ageing. There's never been a better time to have owners with money and ambition, as Newcastle are proving. Sadly we're stuck with skint chancers, just our luck. :(

And yet if we get rid of Cooper, Llorente, Firpo. Harrison and Bamford and bring in one or two canny signings then we may yet be a top 10 team. First job is to relegate Cooper to the bench, restore Struijk to being a CB and move Hjelde to LB. Then make the right moves in January depending on how that works out.

You were dead right to criticise the Jansson sale - apart from the Ben White sticking plaster temp fix we have been a defensive shambles ever since....

Was watching again coopers mistake for one of the goals and then kochs mistake both pretty much the same and basically in the same area and both the same mistakes. Just have to shake my head that both cbs get caught out the same way. Not putting entire blame on them as I think no matter what type of defensive coaching they get their just not good enough. They give their all but it doesn't matter if they arenot up to the job as the past few years have shown by the amount of goals we ship. Have though we needed a striker but it has to be a cb with quality if we haven't got the money for both and a left back is a no brainer.

Certainly can't see a striker coming in, the board can see we're scoring goals, 9 against pool, spurs and bmouth is good going by anyone's standards + we have Sinisterra and the biscuit . Unless the defence is sorted out I can't see us staying up. Having to keep scoring more than the amount we're shipping is not sustainable (I know that's stating the obvious but you know what I mean). Most games we are lucky just to concede 3-4 by half time and unless mes plays a blinder we will always ship a hatful.
Btw...that John mcginn at villa is one ugly fooker ain't he !! Had to get that off me chest sorry.
