Forgetting about the new manager situation.....today will definitely tell us if this team has the bottle for a dogfight.....I'm not too sure but hope to be proved completely wrong......very nervous !!!

New manager - players tend to perform differently with new instructions, may as well give him the benefit of the doubt. He may find it easier not having to find the solo forward with a pin point pass. I always expected him to play, we shall soon see which Harrison turns up.

Pigeon holing him purely as a winger would be wrong.

Pleased to see Wober

4-4-2 ?

Bamford & Gnonto combined well at Old Trafford.

Third game since his concussion. Last week it was said that he felt groggy, if it is still the same he could be in real difficulties as he would be unable to head the ball.

Not good and with no Cooper today that bench looks seriously light

Interesting thought. Would put both Harrison and Aaronson out wide. Or maybe Gnonto and Harrison on the wing?

The first few minutes will be very telling.

We will definitely need Wober and Koch for the full ninety today.

Aaronson was expected by many pundits so not terribly surprising. Perhaps Javi’s logic is to give Harrison 45 min to redeem himself in his preferred position and go from there. I was thinking about this being the attacking setup to start in a 4-4-2 and him making tweaks/adjustments from there. If more goals are needed, Summerville would be brought on and possibly Greenwood (given recent form and set pieces). If Paddy is still struggling regardless of whether we are up or down, Rutter could be brought on. If we’re up, Roca will be brought on to further congest the midfield and aid in more possession. Decent amount of options although our defense is a bit rickety for this match (no Cooper or Struijk apparently).

Despite their poor form Bamford and Harrison are still needed to coordinate the press more effectively. I have a strange and perhaps misplaced feeling of optimism for this game, despite our left side worrying me I have this feeling that Gnonto will put them to the sword. Perhaps as it is my birthday I am getting carried away but I really think we will score a few today.

Just got in the ground, it’s very cold here, atmosphere is a little flat and nervy.
