Well, to say I’m shocked is an understatement. I’ve known bill for quite a number of years now, going back to practically the beginning of MOTforum. We used to meet every time he came over to the uk and go for a drink or three. This is such a massive shock. We drifted apart a few years ago, but more recently kissed and made up. So shocked to hear this. RIP TWIGGS.
Yup, it's me.

Very sad news indeed. My thoughts are with Twiggs family.....

Not been around here in years but read the news on Waccoe and needed to pay my respects. Only met the icon once - it was near Lake Tahoe and he was involved in a memorable ceremony, making himself the center of attention while wearing a Leeds shirt - and we had a couple of pints after. And of course I followed his legendary presence on the forums for awhile.

I expect he's still wearing a Leeds shirt, although he probably had to cut a couple of holes in the back of it to fit those wings through. RIP Twiggster ...

YorkshireSquare wrote: Sun Mar 05, 2023 3:51 pm Having lost another dear friend I met through Leeds United on Friday it’s with a great deal of sadness that today I learned of the passing of Twiggster. His wife posted on Facebook that after a short illness he sadly passed away peacefully.

Twiggs hasn’t posted of MOT for a few years, but he is the reason this place exists and the reason that many of our longstanding members are here. When I went to university in South Wales back in 2001, I felt pretty detached from Leeds United down there. No Look North or YEP which were the main sources of Leeds news back then. So, I started looked on the internet and found MOT.

The forum used to be part of another site, but that site had disappeared from the web and was kept going by energy and enthusiasm of Twiggs. And here we are 20 years later, all thanks to Twiggs.

Sad news, thought I'd pay my respects to Twiggs. Leeds fans on the internet are the most innovative, creative bonkers fans in the country and we were probably the first to get in there. Twiggs along with others were right there from the start. He, Liz, Ravey, Oz, AndyCA, 30mil, MG, Cmac and plenty of others all made we very welcome in those early days when I nervously dipped my toe into this strange world of meeting strange men from the internet in strange pubs. I needn't have fretted, we had some great laughs with ace intelligent writing not just about Leeds. For a few years I thought it was the best place on the internet and Twiggs was right in the thick of it. Sadly I've lost touch with most, shifting sands and all that but remain good friends with at least two from those days. Nice to see some familiar old names on here still going strong though, Cozy, Pat.Armley, GE and the one and only Adi

Did he ever make it as a jet pilot? Or failing that manage to walk to ER from town?

RIP Billy, a privellege to have met you
I must speak frankly Mr Shankly, give us your money
