Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 27th August) Not fit to wear the shirt
You may ask yourself why is this football stadium empty, you may ask yourself what are these flags flying for, you may ask yourself what am I doing here?
Sheffield Wednesday fans are boycotting games, notably the Carabao Cup match against Leeds United on August 26, 2025, to protest against owner Dejphon Chansiri’s mismanagement, which has pushed the club to the brink of financial and operational collapse.
The Supporters’ Trust, with 82% member approval, urged fans to avoid purchasing tickets, aiming to starve Chansiri of revenue and pressure him to sell the club. Issues fueling the boycott include unpaid player and staff wages for three consecutive months, a transfer embargo, a depleted squad, the closure of the North Stand due to neglected safety repairs, and Chansiri’s refusal to engage with fans or lower his unrealistic sale demands, all of which threaten the club’s future.
Fans are redirecting ticket money to charities like Sheffield Children’s Hospital to make a positive impact while sending a clear message of discontent.

For those saying he was unlucky if Piroe misses these he would be hammered
1st especially was awful and the pen.
But DCL has never been a good finisher so can't really blame him

Depends how long we leave it, as it may be be too late. After Newcastle, we have two weeks until Fulham which is the perfect time to change.

People like to assume worst case scenarios because it makes them feel less emotionally vulnerable for if and when the bad things come - it’s a sort of perceived comfort zone. It’s ultimately not helpful and leads to a miserable existence but folk need to discover that for themselves, as I have over the last few years - I’d rather try to be positive and deal with the s**t once it’s actually happened.whiteinfrance wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 11:22 am Panic and over reaction again. I'm convinced we will put up a decent performance on saturday.
Let's wait and see.
DCL missed NO sitters! He missed one difficult chance.
The other two were just well defended.
OK I can't defend the awful penalty.
He wasn't fully match fit but still got into good dangerous positions. I can see him scoring against Newcastle, if he starts.
That's what's known as a POSITIVE take on the situation. Some of you should try it sometime![]()
I'll start to worry after a few more games.![]()

In fairness to DCL, he wasn't signed for his scoring prowess, but for his hold up play and experience.

Bijol and Bornauw both did okay but so they should against SW youngsters seeing as they're both full internationals.ruttermania wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 11:01 am To be fair I thought Bijol looked pretty decent and even though it won't be popular I thought Harrison did reasonably well . In a couple of weeks time we will probably all be grateful that there's no distractions from the hard graft of amassing enough points to get above the bottom three . It may be that it hurts some people more because it was Wednesday but I feel their fans deserved some kind of a boost at a difficult time and really it's no skin off our nose . In the two seasons as our manager DF managed us to a total of 190 points and I for one think that has earned him a reasonable chance at getting this season right and nothing that has happened in the last two games is sufficient to change my mind on that.
I expect they will both be back on the bench on Saturday.
Harrison did okay in the second half after a poor first half i thought.
Okafor showed flashes of skill but is a poor man's Solomon imo and he should have scored after that through ball from Piroe.
We only really looked threatening once Gnonto and Bogle came on.
A glorious opportunity to progress in a cup competition but good luck to SW in the next round.

Piroe does miss them, it's a myth that he doesn't
Penalty last night.
Four goals against Stoke City is the only match Piroe has scored in his last 15 competitive games.

Did someone suggest Sean Dyche to keep us up?
That made my day

Strange how Dyche is considered some joke manager, when he kept both Everton and Burnley up with no money, yet all Farke and his fans did was make excuses about not spending enough. Not sure why passing backwards and sideways and losing 5-0 is "playing the right way", but maximising the most of our your squad and getting results like a Dyche or Moyes makes you a dinosaur.

You can feel that some just can't cope with defeat very well.
But Shirley this is overkill now, you'll end up with a car hose in your gobs.
We got spanked by Arsenal by daring to play against them, and Sheff Weds Kids did a blockbuster backs to the wall blinder against our cripples,
We will live ya know - Now shall we play like Sheff Weds for the rest of the season in the Prem and try and get a sneeky goal and win 1-0.
Yeah!

Hard to say. Several of our new signings didn't look good at this time last year either. There were early questions about Bogle. Campaign to terminate Solomon's loan early.Ellandback1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 8:21 am I would add also that too many of the players we have bought in look to be at the same standard of level. Replacing like for like.
I hope that I am wrong...

He's got a worse Premier league strike rate than Patrick Bamford.
His career is basically based on his best season, the covid one.

I just did some checking.SG90 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 12:28 pm Strange how Dyche is considered some joke manager, when he kept both Everton and Burnley up with no money, yet all Farke and his fans did was make excuses about not spending enough. Dyche inherited an Everton squad worth £380M when he took over in 2023.
So it is hardly as if he was on a shoestring.

I thought Bijol had a really awkward game. But I'm not going to judge him on his first startruttermania wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 11:01 am To be fair I thought Bijol looked pretty decent and even though it won't be popular I thought Harrison did reasonably well . Harrison was my pick yesterday. Thought he was one of the few, probably the only one that seemed up for it. He adds some useful versatility to the squad. Will probably spend most of the season on the bench, But his ability to play a couple of positions does make him useful.
