Thought we deserved a point. Second half was a big improvement for Leeds, but looking back on it, did we drag City down to our level. Next couple of games will make or break us.

Maybe we just can't play with the intensity of the 2nd half for the full 90 mins ?

Not sure what we are disagreeing onCjay wrote: ↑Sat Nov 29, 2025 5:21 pm We can agree to disagree.
Doesn't change anything imo.
It just shows that when the team is used how it is meant to be then it isn't as bad as it looks.
Makes you wonder then why we have been playing more Farke style for so long with little success? And that isn't just my view, The Athletic highlighted it themselves this week.
Why does it take an appalling 1st half and likely a the sack for Farke to show any sort of flexibility? Where has this been the last 5, 6 game
I’m just a fact based person. HT it was 2-0 not 4-0 or 5-0 and the tactics 2nd half very nearly got us a point. Little bit of tiredness in closing Foden down but a good finish nonetheless to win it.
I thought Farke said subs dont impact a game
Anyway from what I saw we could definitely stay up if Farke adapts and if not then he should go.
So we agree

Foden saves the blushes of the anti farke brigade.

I'd sack him more than ever
For making the team look worse than it is for months with his stubborn ploddy crap tactics.
And a plucky 45 minutes finally doing what many fans asked for ages ago doesn't change thay for me.
45 minutes vs 6 defeats in 7 including vs teams currently 16th,19th and 15th
As I said imo it's literally Jesse Marsch vs Liverpool again

Agree a fair amount, Paul. Am wondering if it’s equivalent to Jesse’s Liverpool match. Need to start with the back 3 for next match and see if a breakthrough has occurred.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Sat Nov 29, 2025 5:09 pm Well, I've got to give Farke some credit here. The substitutions and change of formation at HT made a huge difference! I can't remember a time when this Manager has really put his stamp on the match. But he did it in this one. I really can't criticize him. I thought he got it right today. I thought we really deserved a draw today. A bit unlucky to concede in stoppage time. But that was a brilliant goal from Foden!!
This game was a bit of a free punch for us. We didn't expect to win. But the HT changes, and a real resolve by the players made it interesting. Something to build upon. And Farke CLEARLY has not lost the team. They are still fighting for him!

That's a bit silly
It was a free shot half and I was willing them to do it but if we're honest we looked like conceding from minute 75 on it was coming...
What today showed me is that there is a team there that is being held too tight on a leash by an over cautious and indecisive manager
Leeds and St. Patricks Athletic FC!

It literally is
An unexpected performance in a game most expected a hammering (didn't get the win this time but all the same).
And people start forgetting the previous 7.5 8.5 games and think "ahh well that was plucky perhaps its all going to be fine the players fight for him".
The conversations on here were identical.
Doesn't alter the fact we've less points now than we were relegated with and have lost 6 of 7

The big difference is Marsch actually won. Farke is being praised for losing once again.Cjay wrote: ↑Sat Nov 29, 2025 5:40 pm Not quite

A class finish from Foden sealed the victory.
The fact we concede so many goals in the final 20 minutes is a major concern.

I only just noticed
Sunderland imo have gone about it the right way not just in recruitment but in the their belief that they are as good as the opposition. Even Arsenal.
We dont seem to have that attitude.
And the quality replacements definitely wont be lining up to replace Farke. We might end up with Marsch mark 2

I credit the changes many had called for but I don't agree a plucky 45 minutes changes anything
That's short term small picture thinking imo.
I realise many may disagree.

Re: Manchester City v Leeds United Match Thread
Well, Jesse's side WON the Liverpool match so....
I agree with you that we need to start with 3 Centerbacks. But I also like the 2 forward look. So 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 depending on the opponent seems like it could be a better set up for us. And we need to find a way to get Joel Piroe some minutes in one of the forward spots. We are leaving goals on the bench with him. I would give him a run of games to see what he can do at this level.

The clubs have different attitudes, look at the top 10 spend every penny stuff the owners and manager of Sunderland have been saying.
All we got was Farke and his 1ppg and mentioning newly promoted club every 5 minutes and the owners document thing literally saying they are aiming just to survive for a few seasons.
Different attitudes and ambition

We seem to have 60 or 70 minutes in us. Today it was the back end of the game. Usually we start at 100 miles an hour and run out of steam.
Very difficult to maintain the high intensity over 90 mins
