It is no coincidence that there are 24 hours in the day and also 24 bottles of beer in a crate.

Well said. It is clear that the team is playing for Farke and giving their all and that is crucial if we are to stay up. We don't have as good a team as many in this league in terms of individual quality so we need the togetherness, the sum of the parts etc. Sometimes no formation, no changes etc will work if the team with better players works as hard as you, plays as a team etc that is just the division we are in and the reality of the situation.Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 9:03 pm Four points in two games against Chelsea & Liverpool, yeah - it's a surprise.
Not just a surprise but an incredible outcome, so tell it like it is cjay, Farke had the goods on Maresca and Slot thanks to a team that's playing for him and the fanbase.
None of this damning with faint praise nonsense.

Absolutely incredible mate, the scenes when Tanaka scored were off the scale.GreennWhite wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 9:11 pm You have just witnessed 2 cracking home games BB. Good for you![]()
The noise was deafening, grown men in tears and hugging strangers. I’d go back there now, if that could be repeated.

Absolutely. If you are quick in transition with sharp accurate passes the formation is almost irrelevant. “ Poddly Ball” is football without purpose…….which we have done far too much of early in the season. Hopefully we can stop doing that

He did excellent vs Maresca.Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 9:03 pm Four points in two games against Chelsea & Liverpool, yeah - it's a surprise.

He did well against Slot after we went behind when he needed to switch it up.
The difference between today (and Man City tbf) was that he needed something to change.
We saw what happens before when he's not under pressure.
He waits and waits and waits.
When he is he makes proactive changes which is all many have asked for.
Don't think it's a coincidence in the games where his jobs on the line the late subs disappear, the lack of tactical flexibility disappears and the caution disappears.
Not a criticism I just hope it continues.

I'm getting too old for all the exuberant celebrating, especially twice in a week.
Late night football matches are exhausting, enjoyable though.

He made his subs in the 65th minute today. That's about the usual time he makes them!Cjay wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 9:49 pm He did excellent vs Maresca.

Against Chelsea 67th minute.
Earlier change v City likely more due to Dan James's injury which gave him the choice over whether to simply do a like for like sub or try something different, something that they may have been working on.

Farke showed his flexibility to change the formation & his subs were inspiring tonight.

THIS is the big takeaway from this match. For the first time in his tenure, Farke got proactive with a formation change and subs suited to that formation change.Cjay wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 9:49 pm He did excellent vs Maresca.

Fair question here (perhaps even worth a poll of the day), but how many of you were expecting the throw everyone up top YOLO strategy to occur after we went 2-0 down?
I think I’m still in disbelief as to what I just witnessed. Fair play to him for finally getting it right (only took 2+ years). Switching to his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation with the appropriate substitutions for that formation worked brilliantly. Credit where credit is due.
