Leeds hopes for survival took a massive hit last night, as Liverpool piled on the misery in front of a jam packed Elland Road. The scene was reminiscent of the final chapter of Bielsa's reign, as goals flew in from all directions, and a look of bewilderment and disorientation over the faces of the players in White.

Klopp's side were two up by half time, courtesy of Gakpo and Salah; but nothing prepared them for what lay ahead, though it started so well! A couple of minutes into the second half, Sinisterra caught Konate napping, dispossessed him, and fired home from close distance. This was the shot in the arm the hosts desperately needed, but all to soon the effects wore off when Jota restored their two goal advantage five minutes later.

By this point, Liverpool were totally dominant. Had this been a boxing match, the ref would have stopped proceedings a long time ago. A Kristensen goal line clearance (after Meslier was lobbed) and a VAR decision that actually went in Leeds favour, spared their blushes further, before Salah grabbed his brace on 64 minutes.

Jota, who hadn't scored for over a year, grabbed his second and Liverpool's fifth on 73 minutes, and when Nunez grabbed their sixth in stoppage time, it must have come as a relief when the final whistle blew, and were rightly booed off the pitch.

Spot on AJ. The Marsch press was nothing without Adams. He was the real bite in the middle that we so badly miss.

Told you all, we'd badly miss Wober, Adams & Gnonto, our only consistent performers (apart from Koch) throughout the season.
The spine of the team. Coops his past his best but he's got the fight in him.

It's fair to say that this Leeds United side are not great at defending.

The Whites have traditionally favoured attack over defence. From Don Revie to Marcelo Bielsa, attacking football is the club's identity. George Graham - an exception - employed a defensive approach. It was effective but not at all entertaining.

Graham would play six defenders. But that side had probably the club's greatest goalkeeper - Nigel Martyn - with some of the best defenders ever to wear a white shirt, including Tony Dorigo and Lucas Radebe.

Today's side is not that team of the mid-90s, not even close.

If Leeds are to avoid relegation they must play to their strengths: attacking with youth and pace. Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto have at times been Leeds' best players - fearless and direct - and that's something the team needs.

Attack as the best form of defence is a favoured strategy.

Play attacking football and Gracia and the Leeds players will find Elland Road can intimidate the opposition into error. But Leeds fans will not accept going down without a fight.
Kenny you understand football , so much that is wrong with my Scottish club Hearts,is similar to Leeds and I hate too see it, I believe Newcastle have been fixed by Howe, but it was the exact same.

This was Newcastle years ago too.

Elland Road should be a horrible place for teams to play, now teams just rock up and take the pish,

Player's standing off not pressing.

My Newcastle team are the opposite now, teams hate to play us at home, the place is a fortress.

Eddie has brought that back.

My Hearts team anytime we give the old firm,a game is when we attack and match them, not standing off them and admiring them

Press the ball ,get at them they will fold.

Elland Road is not the same anymore and I believe that's down too one thing? Marcelo he gave belief and entertainment ,every game, the life has been sucked out of your great club.

By two people.

And yet Ayling has had an extension
Struijk has had one
Koch will get one
Firpo is still here
Meslier is still here
Cooper will get one.

Mainstays of 2 of the worst defences in Premier league history.

I think I see the issue

Our defence when we finished 9th wasn't that good either.

Something like 14th worst
