Leeds Utd suffered a second half meltdown at the hands of goal shy Crystal Palace yesterday as the Eagles came from behind to soar clear of the relegation fodder; in a five goal massacre. Things could have been all so different had Gracia's men taken their chances early on, but as we have seen so many times over the last few seasons, when it's time for Leeds to soak up pressure, it rarely ends well.

For the first half an hour, it was one way traffic. Leeds were camped in the Palace half, launching wave after wave of attack, with little resistance coming from their South London counterparts! It came as no surprise when deadlock was broken, after 22 minutes when Bamford steered a header (following Aaronson's out-swinging corner) in off the post to deservedly take the lead.

Palace were level shortly just before the interval. Ayew rose highest to get on the end of a free kick, directing a tame effort towards Meslier. Before the Frenchman could claim the ball, Guehi nipped in, and steered the ball in to an empty net.

Leeds second half performance was inexcusable. It was like Ketamine had been served during half time refreshments, such was their inability to keep up. Four goals in 24 minutes well and truly highlighted Leeds Utd's inadequacies, and the tasks Gracia faces between now and the end of the season to paper over the cracks, when hopefully the cull can begin.

I couldn't believe what I was witnessing in the second half of that game.
Everything since, apart from the Newcastle performance, has been thoroughly depressing.
Three away games, Southampton, Manure and Spurs, where we had a lead well into the second half but only ended up with two points are one of a number of reasons why we are almost certainly getting relegated on Sunday.

5 points above Forest in 18th

Above Wolves, West Ham, Palace and Bournemouth.

What ever happened that day we may never know but surely something did?

The collapse has been dramatic.
I was speaking to a mate of mine the other day, who is a Forest fan, and was saying that in that match it basically looked like we were going to be comfortably safe from relegation. Cruising and playing with confidence. Amazing how 1 half of football destroyed the season.

Hmm, so three managers in 2 years have “lost the dressing room”. Perhaps we have a dressing room that needs to get lost?

At that point there were nine teams very close to one another, so the snapshot is to an extent a false impression.
However from there, Easter Sunday, it was always going to be a case of who went on the worst run without a win.
Southampton, Leeds & Leicester have all the worst form.
The drop off was so dramatic that I can't believe nothing happened.

We went from 12th and with 9th best goal difference to being 19th with the 3rd worst difference and staggeringly minus 1 point down on where we were 7.5 games ago.

There's an irony here, maybe Orta was right and we should have stuck with Marsch, he may have been guided in his knowledge he was wrong to fire Bielsa....
We will never know I'm sure but there has been talks of cliques in the dressing room and I wonder if there was a big bust up?

Will never know properly I assume but it's far to dramatic a drop for it to be nothing surely?

Not sure Sam criticising the players quality and depth and throwing Rutter under the bus is helpful in the situation we are in (whether you agree with him or not)

But it does feel a bit like him protecting his reputation (after saying just weeks before he could do a better job).

Oh no Orta sticking by Marsch aslong as he did has been the main issue (aside from hiring him). No credit to Orta at all.

Aside from that I'm absolutely convinced Marsch had lost the dressing room

No players thanked him and in fact quite a few have taken digs at him (Ayling and Bamford come to mind) as has Rene Maric who was Assistant
