And the answer is probably Piroe.... So he has to stay. As I say we're not wasting money with Joel atm, he, at the very least, is a high quality bench player and I keep hearing we have no depth. Wrongly, as we have plenty of depth

I would say Piroe is a very good player but limited, high quality is pushing it a bit, especially at the level we're at now.

We haven't got £50m to £100m players coming off our bench, as is the case with majority of PL clubs, hopefully that will change as we evolve as a club.

No the quality is there, guarantee it. He's easily as good as Chris Wood as a player and a few other starting forwards

Piroe is a different type of striker, to Wood, and yes Piroe is technically is a better footballer, however I'd be surprised if Joel ever surpassed Chris Wood's goal record in the PL, even though I always considered CW a bit of a donkey up top.

Would you have the same get rid attitude if we survive (say finish 17th) and sack Farke for an objectively better manager?

Or Rodon, or Aaronson?

Someone to move us to the next level and evolve.

I do think Ipswich would be a good move for Joel.

Farke isnt going to use him rightly or wrongly.

Piroe can score goals in the Championship, Ipswich are almost certainly getting promoted and Mckenna has shown a willingness to use his players from the previous season in the Prem.

Can understand Joel wanting his chance in the Premier League, he's proven himself in the league below it's natural to want a chance at the top level.

No blame on JP for wanting to stay

That is a hypothetical question, Cjay.

There is a possibility Rodon, Aaronson or Farke may not be at Leeds in the next two or three seasons as we evolve.

I do agree with you on what's best for Piroe in your above post.

Depends really on what the deal Ipswich are offering is. If it is just a loan deal does it benefit him? Is he a guranteed starter? Does he want to uproot his family for 3 or 4 months?
Is it a permananent deal? Can Ipswich match his wages? Are Ipswich going to do like they did last time they got promoted and buy in a load of new players sot hat Piroe might find himself on the fringes again?

So much more to consider than just the fact he isn't getting many minutes for us. It could all change overnight for him if we got 1 or 2 injuries.

,
Leeds gave him the contract Leon, so if there's a "situation" they created it, and they wouldn't be a PL team without his contribution last year.

Totally agree, Dave.

Sentimentality breeds standing still.

As time progresses, we'll all lose our favourites players at some stage.

It's a natural process of a club evolving.

But the player has a right to see the benefits from his contract Leon - either the club offers to buy him out and he is in agreement, or he has a right to stay and earn his wages for the duration.

The reason Leeds gave him the contract was that they needed his goals to get them promoted, he's done his bit.

You can't portray his wanting to stay to fight for his place as an indictment, or suggest it's an obstruction and reflects his attitude to the club.

Again I agree, Dave, Piroe has every right to remain at Leeds if that's his wishes.

Im always bemused why farke talks highly of jp but barely gives him any playing time this season.
Has he fell out with farke? Or just failed to impress in training?

It's a matter of Piroe fitting the system we set-out play from day one.

That would be great for both teams and Piroe. We may need him in the championship next season
Hopefully we stay up and evolve away from head tennis hoofy ball .and can find a spot for piroe in a more entertaining and classy side.

Piroe will be our main striker, should Calvert-Lewin & Nmecha sustain simultaneous injuries.

I wouldn't be surprised now the window is shut.
