I like to think the recruitment team not only made survival its priority, but also did it with an eye toward leaving us in a place where we could spend money on players to bolster the squad in the summer assuming we do survive.

When Bielsa over-achieved during that wonderful first season back in the EPL (I had more fun watching that year's team than almost any other Leeds side I can remember) we didn't strengthen the side much in the following summer and both the club and Bielsa paid a terrible price. Management (I hope) seems determined not to repeat that mistake.

I, for one, am glad they didn't make any big moves in this last window. January moves rarely make a big difference. Generally (not always) a team has to overpay and it takes time to bed new players in.

We have the talent we need to stay up and we have some financial resources to bring in new players this summer. At least I assume that's the plan.

Having said that, clickbait links to Trafford in the summer - I'd take that and let Darlow or Perri go, the latter if we can get our money back out.

It's always easy to demand sanctions on a group of club members who you know nothing about or how they do their work.


The blame culture is ridiculous truth be told.

Yet when they do a good job there is a begrudging silence while the complainers move on to their next target.


Two out of our latest signings have struggled for form.

One is playing in a system he didn't sign for and the other looking overawed with playing on this league.

Perhaps they are fixable, maybe so, maybe not.

No credit given to the fact our new signings have brought us 23 goals so far this term. Thats 75,% of our strikes. Not bad, especially as most of our midfield have chipped in.

And we did worry where the goals would come from...

When the players put in a poor performance or two one of the allegations against them is that they lack bottle, ie failing under pressure.

I wonder if some in the club would accuse some of the fans of the same thing....




We knew this would be hard, we will be swirling near the plughole this season and perhaps for a few years yet.

They need revamped with 10,000 volts Chapel.

Ortega was signed by Forest for a snippet, while our lot were trying and failing to make a statement signing for £40 million.

They had failed to get Paixao, Muniz and Wilson over the line last summer, but did manage to pay over the odds for the donkey Longstaff.

Forest also just signed a left back Luka Netz for £2.5 million from Germany. He even played for Farke in Germany, so why did we not call him?

Absolutely criminal negligence from the board and this useless recruitment team.

We're left with players whose value is dwindling by the day and should have been sold.
