Awful way to view your team if you cant trust them in games.
Probably because Leeds United is my home city football club, and I want the best opportunity for that football club to win. Probably even more so in fact than any current Leeds fans who decided to adopt the club, rather than say following a club based on where they grew up and/ or have lived most of all of their adult life.

Anyway, presumably DF is exempt from your ( sanctimonious) lecture about the morality of trusting players in big games, given that he publicly criticised Perri and then dropped him ?

Oh, hang on a minute - that's different because Farke is not a Leeds fan that you simply want to have a dig at on a forum......🙄

I think he's ok, but depends how ambitious the club is and what they see as the priorities for strengthening the squad.

Negative people can't tolerate diversity of opinions..

Since when did it became a crime to debate the starting line up of a football team ?

It's funny how there seems to be more and more control freak people around in the world these days. It reminds me of cancel culture at universities.

If he's picked I hope he has the game of his life, however questioning whether the more solid and safe Darlow ( based on form this season ) should start this match is a valid question, and one worth a bit of debate.

" Debate " that is, not having a party line dreamt up by others imposed on you....

CHAPELALLMAN wrote: Sat Apr 25, 2026 9:05 am White - don't forget that the guy you responded to regards any player that Bielsa used to regularly pick as pretty well infallible. He still hasn't got over his immense trauma of Bielsa being shown the door - bless.

I wouldn't start Perri, as this is our biggest cup game since the 1996 league cup final. Darlow is an international keeper who has been playing in some big crunch games for Wales recently. Perri presumably has relatively little experience of big games.

I'm just nervous that the occasion might get to him and he reverts to what we saw earlier in the season when he was the first choice keeper. He was dropped because Farke lost confidence in him, and earlier FA Cup ties were probably regarded as free hits. Now there's much more at stake.

I just have this memory of Casilla in the vital Derby play off game and how the occasion got to him. IMO Darlow is less likely to do some kind of an embarrassing howler due to nerves. It's a difficult call for Farke though, because he will get a lot of flak if Perri is selected and then screws up in front of such a big audience.
Either one will do for me Chapel. Though I would prefer Perri. Darlow has had the odd mistake, but he got away with most of them, and he also seems to get a lot more leeway.

Essentially, Farke can only go with the tools he has. These are both competent, experienced goalkeepers, so either one should be able to perform, and if they c**k up on the big stage then that for me is down to them individually and not Farke's fault.

Same as DCL got his big chance for England and fluffed his lines, but at that level he won't be getting another chance, that's for sure.

One thing Jesse Marsch did get right about those players was when he said "They're scared" cos they were. In that semi against Derby, only Stuart Dallas turned up, and was the one player that day who believed and wanted it. Ostracizing Pontus was a big mistake, as for me he did the correct action against those cheating Villa tossers. The first concession was 50/50 between Kiko and Cooper, as a goalkeeper in the past I would shout and claim the ball and if Cooper got in the way he'd get cleaned out as well as the ball, cos he got his warning 8-)

Apart from the magnificent Stuart Dallas, who I'll always remember for what he did that night, we mentally folded like a pack of cards once that first goal went in, but Stuart Dallas wasn't having it. Mentally weak players, with a lack of technical skill imo.

So do you think fear is a mental weakness?

You miss the point - probably because you're not exactly the sharpest..

If you had been brought up in Leeds, followed the club since childhood, and then someone on a forum targets your every post, mocks you, accuses you of negativity etc just because you debate starting line ups, tactics etc then how would you react ?

And especially when you factor in that they possibly don't follow the club nearest to where they were brought up because it wasn't big enough or famous enough for them....That doesn't matter at all normally - but it does tend to matter when they treat people actually from the city as some kind of traitors, when in fact all they want is for their club to do well for a change.

And I'm glad that the club has a wide fan base across the world. I've always been particularly pleased that there has traditionally been a strong following in Scandinavia - especially as Scandinavians are such pleasant people, - certainly not the types you would imagine would be prone to starting an argument in an empty room.

Hmmm the man who weekly boasts of how many people he has filtered/blocked/cancelled objects to the cancel culture at univerities.

It is all right when he does it, but wrong when it happens to some nebulous person at university.

cencorship is OK when he does it, but frowned apon when others do it.

Unbelievable!!!!
