Paixao doesn't want to leave Marseille, he's already turned us down according to French media.

Maybe we are skint? Maybe the pre season made us over confident?

The Paixao thing is very odd, since he was seemingly happy to go to Sunderland last week. So either he skived out of his geography class in school, or, he's a bit mercenary and Sunderland are willing to pay him a lot more than us (most likely). We really must be skint if we're all but done on the transfer front except for Chelsea's piss-take conditional loan of Mudryk.
