McCalmont isn't far away either. He'd be starting for a lot of championship clubs now

I wouldn't be surprised whatsoever Faaip

Doesn't distract from the fact that Douglas was poor again yesterday in a team that blossomed

Looks a good sort, doubt he'll get many opportunities this season unless we get an abundance of injuries

10Alioski
17Hélder Costa
30Miazek
40Davis
44Bogusz
47Clarke
53Gotts
Minus a CB & a striker, hope that doesn't apply for the Forest game

One for the future hopefully but there comes a point where they need to be playing top level or they fade again. Look at Pearce, still a very good player probably but passed by Davis and maybe Oduor.

I'm happy counting McCalmont as borderline first team squad player though

We get Beradi back for the Forest game so that won't apply. Bielsa will play Costa/Clarke/Harrison up front if Bamford gets injured. Bielsa ball is the one formation where you may not need a pure striker.

For me it all depends on how much Bielsa rates Douglas compared to how much he rates the other options. Bielsa showed last season when Ayling came back from injury that he was prepared to give him time to get back to his best form despite the majority of fans calling for Ayling to be dropped. Once Ayling had played a few matches and got back up to 100% he was superb. Douglas may be the same but may not be at 100% yet. Same thing with Bamford and fans judging him when he wasn't anywhere near fit.

Bielsa shows the players he has faith in them and is loyal to them and usually they will repay him on the pitch once they get their fitness, form and confidence back. Douglas did have a poor game yesterday though and does need to find the level of performance that he showed for Wolves.

I just don't think Davis will come into consideration for a while. MB hasn't really gone full youth yet at any position when he's had options.

Newcastle United look set to miss out on Inter Milan centre-forward Facundo Colidio, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Sky Sports Italy journalist claims via his personal website that Leeds United have stolen a march on Newcastle in the chase to sign the 19-year-old and could even wrap up the deal to sign him today (Monday).

It is understood that Leeds are still negotiating the transfer with Inter Milan but it seems as though the two clubs are on the verge of an agreement with one another.

Hope this is true. While my first choice would be Gayle, Colidio looks an exceptional finisher from what I've seen of him.

Radrizzani is also trying to sign Nolan at the same time as Colidio. Both play for Inter.

Looks like this is genuine, and it will happen....

Why would Douglas not be 100% yet? He's had a full pre season the same as the others hasn't he?
