Bate played a full 90 on Friday night and he played a full shift on Tuesday. As did Charlie Allen is looks decent for his age as a box to box defender.

Sadly, he is no.1 sub now all the time no matter what the gap is on the field beyond the defence. It’s a real worry.

I do agree he's not the answer. I've said before that it's a bit unfair on the lad for MB to shove him on and expect him to work miracles every single week. Why he persists with the same sub every week is mystifying.Boo Radley wrote: ↑Sat Oct 02, 2021 7:36 pm I didn’t slag him off at all today. The fact remains, that effort is off target, statistically speaking, and more importantly it doesn’t count on the scoreboard.
Right now we need a finisher more than anything. He is not the solution. There are legitimate question marks about his overall ability but that wasn’t the discussion today. We needed to go with some with a record of scoring recently and with the confidence that goes with it, namely Gelhardt, until we have Bamford back or buy someone.
I would love to see Geldhert given a chance, we don't know what he might achieve unless he's given a go
By the way boo, I wasn't personally referring to you in my first post. I said I dont think he deserves a slagging off from 'Anyone today'

He played Clarke at 17. He needs to understand that young players can be a better option than senior players.

It did look a foul on Cooper to me. If it was the other way, Watford would've got a penalty.

So how comes when James was fouled in the box for scum they got 50 million penalties, yet none of these are fouls?

How much better are we when Llorente plays. I'm amazed he wasn't on the bench, eased in gently because of his injuries though.
Shackleton too has started to shine. Give the guy a good run out, and look at the results!
Firpo is getting better every game.
Dan James was everywhere. The amount of times he nipped in was fantastic.
Considering Meslier could have popped off to the shops, and back again without conceding, I'm amazed Gelhardt was not given minutes!
Bamford will probably be out for another month, and Rodrigo is not a goalscorer. He said so himself.

Gelhard must be pulling his f hair out! We are struggling to convert opportunities and could've easily dropped more points yesterday even though we dominated throughout but our most natural goalscorer is kept in the bench. For Christ sake MB give the guy a chance because more than likely some other club will be sniffing around him come January and he might just want to call it a day at Leeds. I really don't understand what Bielsa's problem is at all.

And we'll have no one to blame but ourselves when that happens. Not just Gelhardt, but Struijk too. Gone from regular PL football to playing for the u23s, doubt he'll be happy.BGwhite wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 12:27 pm Gelhard must be pulling his f hair out! Young players are fearless, but MB can't see that. Just look at the pens from Gelhardt and McKinstry compared to Dallas and Forshaw's.

Or maybe young Sakho's in the final....
Okay so let's take the example of Jack Clarke who came into the team primarily at the expense of Harrison. All the fans clamouring for Clarke over Harrison. Yet who would start Clarke over Harrison now? Football isn't an exact science and there are countless youth players that looked like world beaters then were burnt out before they were 20. If Clarke had been eased in gradually and hadn't been thrust into the starlight so early and had his panic type attack then he may now be a regular first team player now instead of being loaned out and failing to make any real impression.
Same with Foden at Man City and Pep eased him in gradually, didn't loan him out and just gradually increased the amount of minutes he played and he will likely be a great player for many years.

Clarke's issue was going to Spurs, which was completely the wrong move for him. Not his fault, as we needed the money. If he stayed, he'd be involved and had PL appearances under his belt.weasel wrote: ↑Sun Oct 03, 2021 2:48 pm Or maybe young Sakho's in the final....

Well he sort of did stay didn't he as he was loaned back to us but if memory recalls I think he made 1 sub appearance. Whatever happened he has obviously taken a huge step back in his development/progression and whilst it may be frustrating to Shackleton fans to see him not play as often as you'd like it may well help him in the long term and he doesn't have as much pressure on him as Clarke did. Bielsa is developing him slowly but would appear to have complete confidence in him and knows he will put ina good performance whenever and wherever he plays.

Just watched Ref Watch on Sky Sports. The Watford goal was disallowed because the ref blew his whistle before the ball went in the net. If you look at it from the angle behind the goal you can see Simon Hooper blow as Cooper and the Watford player go to ground. He blew because of the shirt pulling between both players.

So how did he determine who fouled who first?whiteswan wrote: ↑Mon Oct 04, 2021 1:40 pm Just watched Ref Watch on Sky Sports.
