Actually this is a fair comment and puts the game into a bit of perspective. Palace are no pushovers currently.

Marsch OUT

Football has undergone a process of bielsification; pressing and possessing, passing rather than dribbling, intercepting high up the field rather than making last-ditch tackles, are in vogue.

Marcelo Bielsa. The light that will never go out.

He’s a similar age and better by a country mile but as you point out he’s had more first team football over the last few years.

My point was I don't get the hype with him, since our fans are crying about him and apparently there were no midfielders on the planet better than him.

I never brought up the u23s.

Palace 6th best team at home this season in the PL. Their stats are very impressive so maybe a point is ok

I live on a real planet. If you're still playing u23s football at the age of 22, you will end up in non league most likely.

 Plus it's been 16 days since our last game.

Mind you it's the same ones who were whining after Watford. Obviously they'd prefer relegation conceding 3/4 every week.

A point is a fine result.

To say otherwise is silly.

The point is good and but for the situation we would be delighted with it, keeping clean sheets and gaining points is crucial this time of the season. I still think we can get at Chelsea and Arsenal if we are at the top of our game.

Crowd will be our 12th man. Citeh play Real Madrid either side, so expect some leggyness.

The football was crap! Lazy passing and getting caught in possession constantly. Too narrow in my opinion. Lack of purposeful movement off the ball. Never really looked threatening. On the other hand it's a point and another clean sheet. Unbeaten in 5 matches. And one point closer to safety. Relegation fights are never pretty....

Can’t resist some cash on Burnley and Everton to win at 13/1 it’s skant consolation if it happens and I’d far rather lose the bet but in my pessimistic mind it’s going to happen.

Thought we'd get a point before kick off tbh. 16 days is just too long between games. If we'd played them last week, we'd might have got all 3.

Absolutely awful to watch, no one knew where anyone was, we were very narrow, but still didn't have control in the middle.

The results over the last 5 games have been decent and a point is better than none but it makes me worried about the remaining games. We need at least 4 more points and we'll probably need them in the last two games of the season.

I think Chelsea will bend over for Lampard tbh, so expect them to win. I think Watford are well overdue a win.

What will baffle me forever is how are Bielsa and Marsch similar?

Fundamentally the systems are different.

Buelsa's system liked to make the pitch as big as possible and use the width.

Marsch likes to play as narrow as possible.

Bielsa.loved wingers (hence why we have 74 and no midfielders).

Marsch doesn't use wingers in his system at all and he prefers central players (which we have very few).

The pressing systems are different as well.

We have a squad built for a totally different system.

I am not convinced Marsch got the job because it was similar to Bielsa like Orta and Radz said I think he got it because he was Orta's mate.

This isn't meant to criticise Msrsch incidentally it's just never made much sense as a narrative despite what the club said.
