Not much comment on here re this Lumi. I’m surprised Kenny doesn’t have an opinion as he has a fairly critical view of Radz, monkey (not my word) etc.
Must admit I find it fascinating. So many things at play. The bullying and mind games of Raph, Deco & Barca. The chance for the supposedly useless aforementioned to stand up and play the hardest of hardball.
Kane is a great example of this. A fabulous servant for Spurs, and a world class player who many thought earnt the right for a big move but Levy & Co were having none of it even with the massive sums involved. And he’s still there.
So why does Raph have a right for a move. Simple answer, he doesn’t. He’s under contract like Kane.
But what is he worth. People say 70 but you are worth what the market says you are. What anyone is willing to pay. And if it’s not enough you don’t sell unless you have to. And we don’t. At least I don’t think we do.
I for one will be glued to this over the coming weeks. The outcome will say a lot about the people running our club.

I think he'd have gone to Barcelona for 25m if we'd got relegated. Seems like a cheeky bid now. Don't think Leeds would agree to anything less than 50m (I'd hope much more). Are Barca fishing in hopes that player and agent will start making noise?

Barca really can get to f**k if that £25m bid is genuine. Double that as our baseline and then we could start to talk. As others have said, we hold all the cards, we do not have to sell. If he sulks and doesn't perform, no WC. If he gets on with it, has a good WC, then his value and stock rises and we have had the benefit of him performing well on a regular basis. Again, we hold all the cards and if it has to happen, it is for big money, up front and no cast-offs as part of the deal. Radz and Orta need to show they have the cajones to deal with the big boys and now be cowed by the fact that it's Barcelona. Who everyone knows are potless, anyway

That's the worry with Barca. There's no guarantee they will pay, they haven't paid Citeh a penny for Torres. The difference is we can't afford to not receive a fee for one of our best players.

I’m probably terribly naive but what is this not paying for a player thing? Isn’t there some kind of watchdog type thing for this. So we’ll get bullied into letting our prize asset go for under the odds then have to spend shedloads on litigation to get our dosh. An unscrupulous club with no money with a history of not paying up. Don’t do business with people you don’t trust. He can play for us till the WC then we’ll see what the craic is.

Barcelona haven't a pot to p1ss in - they are skint. Even dealing with them could leave us seriously short of any agreed funds.

A friend of mine, who is a massive Barca fan, said the entire Barca support went into a complete frenzied panic on Twitter when Leeds won on Sunday. They saw it as the end of their chance to sign Raphina. That's because they know that they now can't afford him.

We hold all the cards here. He's in contract, he needs to play at the top level with the WC coming up, there is no cheap release clause and they cannot pay the going rate.

If he only wants to play for Barcelona then it should be made clear to all involved that he's going nowhere this summer.

apparently daily mirror reporting IF true value leeds united has put on raph and phillips apparently both valued at 50m. and thats what i said all along we will not get more for raph and certainly not more for phillips. hope we get the full 50m for raphinha though.

Maybe if PSG , Bayern , Real or a few of the bigger European sides come in for him it may force Barca's hand or they will stop this rubbish of offering peanuts for a genuine talent, or offloading a couple of peripheral players plus a bit of cash . Not sure I personally would like to see Raph go to an English club , though hopefully Chelscum won't be in the position to buy.....to me Chelscum and to a lesser degree Man Utd is completely unacceptable. To me you don't strengthen your opponents hands ( or Cantona ) .
