Had 3 dribbles - on two of them he was brought down with bookings each time to the Heart's players, on the third run he put in a great cross across the 6 yard box that nobody tapped home.

Certainly no sense of any 'attitude' problems. He worked hard defensively, coming back into his half often and pressing players so think in that sense he would fit in well.

Looks quick and looks like he loves running at players. Like Hadi Sacko but with a football brain. Did enough to impress me even though he didn't see much of the ball. I think he would excite the crowd at ER when coming on.

Going by Jessie's presser, the Gnonto transfer would seem a dead-end. Jessie states Gnonto would not be PL first-team ready. I cannot imagine a player with 4 Italy caps and one International goal would come to Leeds to play U21 only and not feature in the first team match day squad. Pity as I like the look of him and the fee seems decent too.

Maradona was 5' 3''. Having said that; how many young promising strikers do we need?
He's not a starter in the PL; we need someone who is better than Bamford.

There are strikers that are out there but the questions are: will they be available? can we afford them?

He's so strong as well. Small, but solid.
They couldn't get the ball off him, had to resort to fouls.

If the fee is really £4m with extras then that is a bargain.

I'm guessing he's not seen as being ready to be the regular starter but would be ideal for us as he could come on as a sub quite often as well as making some starts. He seems to be used more often as a supersub type for Zurich and Italy. I see it as being potentially a perfect move for both the club and Gnonto.

So, the transfer window shuts on Wednesday in Switzerland, and it looks like Zurich's President's gamble on getting over 10 Million euros/pounds has back-fired spectacularly.

Zurich played Cham in the Cup Sunday 2 weeks ago, and Gnonto started. Cham are 3rd division here, and amateurs.
Gnonto got a penalty on 30 mins., at 1-0, and ran to get the ball, then blasted it way over the bar.
Missed another great chance at the end of the 1st half, and was subbed on 70 mins.
Very disappointing performance, characterised by y lot of complaining and raising of hands, etc


Zurich played against Hearts last week, and qualified for the Europa League, thanks to a red card for Hearts, and a 1-0 away win.
Gnonto came on at the start of the 2nd half and did very little. He was trying to impress, but it didn't really come off for him.

Gnonto then had a stinker on Sunday in the biggest game in Switzerland, Zurich v Basel.
Hardly had a touch, was subbed on 60 mins. His market value goes down every time he starts.

Zurich lost 4-2 at home, btw.
Bottom of the League, 2 points from 6 games, 3 goals scored, but got Arsenal in the Europa League.

Allegedly Gnonto has agreed to sign for Leeds, but the fee involved is not enough.

FC Zurich had a partnership with Bournemouth a few years ago. Not much happened, they played a friendly here, and allegedly financed a transfer, but nothing concrete.

Richard Hughes, their Scout, was in Edinburgh to watch Gnonto, and it seems Bournemouth might try and sign up Gnonto and loan him back to Zurich for this season.

Not sure if this is a ploy to pressure Leeds into raising their bid, but there has definitely been contact between Zurich and Bournemouth.
Not sure what Gnonto would think about this, as the chances of Bournemouth being in the PL next year are probably 50/50.

He's 100% mentally already left the Club here, so I hope it gets resolved quickly.

I think he is in a very tricky position. Note that Leicester didn't play Fofana at the weekend due to him wanting to move to Chelsea and that is usually the way when a player is moving - note it happened when Charlie Taylor refused toplay the last game of the season for us as he had agreed to a move and didn't want to risk injury.

The player is clearly a decent player, Mancini wouldn't have given him 4 caps for Italy if it wasn't the case.

It would appear to me that we see him as a potentially good player but initially as an U21 player hence why we don't want to pay too much, would imagine the £5m we paid City for Gyabi is our limit for non first team players.

He's actually got real quality, but mentally I think he burnt out over the summer.

FC Zurich becoming Champions very surprisingly, then his call-up to the Italian National squad and his goals/assists in those games, would have all of us thinking that we were the next best thing.

Add to that his father being his agent and it only takes a few wrong thoughts and suddenly you've blown it.

Hope Willy sorts his head out, but at the moment he is spiralling uncontrollably downwards, as is the whole FCZ side this season, to be honest.

FCZ got a new trainer as well, Franco Foda, who is the exact opposite of Andre Breitenreiter, the trainer that got FCZ the Championship last season.

Breitenreiter had empathy, Foda has not. Enough said about that.
