If Cjay's comments today say anything about needing a striker and a left back, can we petition to block him for a week?
I could ban him for the week anyway if you like

Well ladies and gentlemen it looks like we’ve got us a proper Premier League football team. I hope I’m still saying that by the end of the season but going by todays outstanding performance I think it’s a safe bet.

Chelsea may have better individual players (they ought to - they’ve spent enough) but have they got a team?

I think we have!

The same people that knew exactly jack s**t about Bielsa before he came to LUFC also knew nothing about Jesse Marsch. I suspect he will similarly win them over.

I Think so Paul. I'm a big Marsch fan already - he's far more intelligent that some people give him credit for.

Gelhardt and Greenwood for me now.
Agreed.
He got caught in possession a couple of times, you could see he isn't quite up to PL match pace yet but it will come.
He, along with Joffy, Greenwood, Klich and Hjelde should all start against Barnsley imo.
Possibly Summerville as well.

Loved to see this today. Was expecting this sort of play from Aaronson and Adams against run of the mill (mid tier table) teams. Thought that the possession that Chelsea would command would disrupt both players flow. And then today happened. Loved to see it. Completely took Chelsea out of the flow. Harrison service was disgusting. Will be interesting to see if this level of energy can be sustained. Marsch brings this type of play, but I don't think it can be understated what Bielsa did setting ground work. On pace for 90 points (joking).

Not sure how exactly. Marsch ditched the man marking, adopted a new formation and nearly half the 1st team are now players that Marsch brought in to suit his system. Futhermore, Marsch has transformed players who were duds before - Rodrigo principally. That was our first clean sheet at ER since November - that's because we ditched the man marking and don't part like the Red Sea down the middle anymore. Two DMs allows us to throttle other teams and keep control over the middle of the park.

If Bielsa set the ground work then why were so many moaning on here that they hate Marsch's ' narrow ' formation and the difference in style ? The only similarity is the high energy and pressing style of play - but that's the modern way of playing football. It hails from the Dutch style of ' total football ' from the 1970s.

Bielsa's contribution was to get the club promoted - and that's what he deserves credit for.

Fair enough, you don't rate Rodrigo, Bamford or Gelhardt all of whom are 9's. But your right, maybe it is time I let the idiots push me out of the forum. From this moment I shall refrain from posting on General chat APART from the music threads as I'd hate to leave 64 in the lurch but pulling out of all the polls.

Thought you had a thicker skin than that Faaip. It’s a place for differences of opinion or it would be boring.
