Re: Leeds Utd v Chelsea Match Day Thread
I'm just gonna bring us back down to earth a little bit.
I've just been looking at the team and formation Chelsea put out.
That Chelsea team and set up is proper disrupted, dishevelled and disjointed, he's tried disastrously a 3-5-2 and injuries to Apzicueta, Kovacic and Kante have forced square pegs into round holes etc and players playing that don't normally, there's a lot of adjustment and players not familiar with each other.
We can only beat what's put in front of us and we beat them soundly, but we caught them at the right time, you could say like they usually catch us, so for me the win is not as convincing as first seemed, but still excellent nonetheless.
Onwards and upwards with Yankball.

In fairness JM has repeatedly said that LB is not a concern. Perhaps he was watching Pascal in training was comfortable with him in that spot. He has looked damn good so far....
Having said that I still think he has Kai Wagner lined up as a possible January transfer target if needed.

You need to watch the performance Kenny. This isn't about Chelsea's lineup or the players they have missing. It's about how LUFC performed. It's putting the system on display. It's been such a mystery for the past few months. Everyone speculating. Me trying to give some insight. But today it was out there for everyone to see. Textbook Jesse Marsch system on display. Executed almost perfectly by the players.Kennyb41 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 22, 2022 3:56 am I'm just gonna bring us back down to earth a little bit.

Yes Paul i'm with you all the way on that, i'm not knocking anything at all, it just would've been a lot sweeter to see that against Chelsea's full team, that's why i've put you can only beat what's put in front of you.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Mon Aug 22, 2022 4:13 am You need to watch the performance Kenny. It is 100% our best display to date and long may it continue, it's also sweet for you to see the things you said come to fruition.
You have put your money where your mouth is re Jesse and up to yesterday i hadn't seen much, like i previously said, i've seen glimpses but nothing to write home about, it's now bought some time from me for it to work and hopefully get better and hopefully with more to come.
The future is brighter today.

I woke up this morning after I'd dreamt Leeds had battered Chelsea 3-0

Pascal gives us height at set-pieces as opposed to the £60m tich Chelsea have recently signed. Struijk won a few headers at the back yesterday.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Mon Aug 22, 2022 4:06 am In fairness JM has repeatedly said that LB is not a concern. Re: Leeds Utd v Chelsea Match Day Thread
You have to remember Kennyboy, we had four senior players unavailable. The key is Jesse's system destroyed Chelsea's play, they were rattled way before half-time with one of their CB's having a right go at Reece James, they couldn't cope with our press & the energy/pace of our team.Kennyb41 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 22, 2022 4:47 am Yes Paul i'm with you all the way on that, i'm not knocking anything at all, it just would've been a lot sweeter to see that against Chelsea's full team, that's why i've put you can only beat what's put in front of you.

Just wow! Jack Harrison At points was toying with them
flicking it over there head in the Chelsea box, the confidence he has this season is beaming.
Struijk for me was fantastic yesterday and having a lot more confidence in Koch as well.
Liked the look of what Sinisterra has to offer when he has the ball at his feet and some of his passing but would like to see a bit more of his off the ball work.
Still beaming and glad we only have to wait a few days till we are back at ER.

What I like about this team is there's no overrated superstars or show ponies. Just a hard working and humble team. Keep it up!

In terms of bile maybe look in the mirror. I was commenting purely on a footballing matter which didn't involve you in the discussion, but out of the blue you then waded in with a series of personal insults.
Exactly how did me talking about me possibly changing my mind about Orta constitute ' showing up with my bile ' Please explain your twisted logic.
And I'm not your ' chum. '

You two clearly don't get on, probably best you stay clear of each other rather than drag threads down

YS - I have had almost nothing to do with Irish Ian on here.YorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Mon Aug 22, 2022 8:41 am You two clearly don't get on, probably best you stay clear of each other rather than drag threads down
I just made a comment about me perhaps changing my opinion about VO, which you responded to with an on topic football only comment, and then this Irish Ian wades in with a series of personal insults directed at me. Please read what he wrote.
So yes, I guess it's a case of ' not getting on ' if that's the definition of a stranger popping out of nowhere with personal barbs about someone who has just expressed a football only point of view.
