I actually loved the 12" version of We Don't Need That Fascist Groove Thing" and played it to death.

Was going to go for Swans - Filth, but I'll spare your ears. Loved the first three Waterboys albums at the time. This one gets unfairly overlooked imo.

Glad someone's picked that, and it'll probably get 5 points from me. I've already previously nominated In The Flat Field, otherwise I'd have gone for it. It's my second fave Bauhaus album, and I still play it fairly regularly.

Still gets a regular airing here, Sara, along with most of their stuff. Saw them in London towards the end of last year on what they suggested might be a final tour. Put on an excellent show. Great band

But not a patch on Penthouse and Pavement, their best imo

I found Heaven 17 the other way around, as in heard them during the Temptation/Come Live With Me phase and only found PaP years later. So I have to admit my fondness is tied up with nostalgia rather than a critical analysis.

You don't hear Come Live With me any more. I guess a song that started with "I was 37, you were 17" was on dodgy ground, maybe even then...

Got sick of hearing them Leon, and I would take SLF, or Undertones ahead of U2 any day of the week.

Yeah, the early U2 albums we're more authentic for me. But they morphed into this giant, corporate money making machine and seemed happy to follow that route.

SLF especially stayed true to their roots, I'll take Jakey Burns over Bono all day long.
