Everton cruised to a 3-0 victory over Leeds closing the gap between the two teams to a single point. Although bottom of the form guide with one league victory in almost five months, Frank Lampard's side totally outplayed sorry Leeds, who were even unable to muster a shot on target all game.

Bielsa kept faith with the same starting XI that fought back valiantly to nick a point at Villa Park 72 hours previously. The gruelling six goal thriller had visibly taken its toll on the Whites, with many players cramping up in the latter stages. In his wisdom, the Argentine decided to stick with the same side for the third game running, a decision he would later regret.

The Toffee's opened the scoring on ten minutes. Van De Beek's cross found Calvert-Lewin on the far post. His goalwards effort was nodded in by Seamus Coleman from close range. They doubled the scoreline twelve minutes later as Leeds frailties from set pieces were once again exposed - Michael Keane thumping header giving Meslier no chance.

When you're 2-0 down, the last thing you need is cannon fodder, and when Bielsa bought on Tyler Roberts for the second half, Leeds fans knew the writing was on the wall. Everton continued to press, and were rewarded with a third goal twelve minutes from time when Richarlison's effort beat Meslier from the edge of the area.

He is on £8m a year. This idea that we can only attract Pulis, Bruce or Fat Sam if he leaves is delusional. Especially as a PL club.
8m a year, Phillips a 2.5m rated player pre Bert, 75m plus now ? .......... Cooper ? Dallas ? Ayling ? Forshaw ? Bamford ? etc

I'll give you Roberts, even Bert's struggling with him.

So 4 years here at 8m...32m, recovered plus some in Kalvin alone.

I rest my case m'lud.

Bongo1874 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 4:45 pm If you want him out fair play you could have it far worse, great team to watch even better when all players are fit.

If he leaves at the end of season.

Which he will keep you up then he's done a good job.

Will be interesting to see what a different manager can get out these player's.
Spot on as per Bongo, some here should be careful what they wish for, Bert has worked wonders with some i considered trash, and he still is.

He'll introduce the youth when he's good and ready and not a moment sooner, in Bert i trust and always will, his system some take to sooner than the others that's all (Rodrigo) and others will just never get it and must go (Costa fortune, all the monkey with a pins fault)

Roberts a complete mystery to me though, and another of Ortas trash, if Bert comes through with this one like Bamford, Dallas, Cooper and Phillips ( and a few more).....i really will eat the proverbial hat.

:ok:

It can only get worse? you have never had a full fit team all season, the guy has taken you from 13th in English Championship to Premier league?

You had written off Phillips, Cooper etc.

Phillips England capped Bamford England cap all under him.

Realistically this guy at barca that is being mentioned was sacked and Hounded out the club, the fans hated his style of play, he chucked a 3-0 lead against Liverpool in the champions league semi final despite Liverpool having there best player out, salah.

His disaster against fc roma?

But he's better than bielsa, he's never been at a team that's s**t and he's had to build it he walked into Marcelos team.

He walked into barca who had world class player's , yet some on here are saying it's a crisis he walked into, he had the best player in the world at his disposal Messi.
Spot on, absolutely nailed it Bongo, especially the Leeds stuff.

You don't know this, but Bielsa is harming our progression refusing to accept good players and won't move on from the Championship sentiment. If we don't go down this year, then we definitely will next year.
If we don't go down this year, we'll be safe for another 5 as long as Bert stays.
