Arrogance I think. Saw a newly promoted side at home. And thought he could get away with both resting Rasmus and getting a more attacking RB into the team. Almost cost him his job. We're not playing in Europe. You'd think he'd play his strongest side every week.

Great to see a lot of the players giving Marsch strong hugs after the game.Cumbriarents wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 9:39 pm The players are definitely with Jesse. They have shown in the last few games they are up for the fight.

Re: Liverpool V Leeds Utd Match Thread - Jesse Marsch faces injury crisis
Phone died - I was watching it in my man cave. The point I was trying to make about Bamford. When he went over he clearly tweaked something. He did not look comfortable for the rest of the game. If I could see that on TV surely Marsch could. I realise he has to be given minutes to get his confidence back as he is bereft of any right now.
Bamford for me needs to be more honest in those situations but it is evident he is desperate to play. That is why I was bemused with Summerville coming off. Should have been Bamford under the circumstances. Some might say it paid off. Well more luck than judgement IMO.
Harrison is another player bereft of confidence. I understand trying to play through the issue, but there has to be a tipping point. A lot of our problems are caused by losing the ball, misplacing passes / badly executed link play. We commit players forward only to lose it needlessly and as a result get countered. Gnonto knows how to look after the ball. I realise it is one cameo appearance but straight away you can see the player in him.
I hope what he did rubs off on the likes of Harrison and Rodrigo because they create more problems for us than the opposition too often. Sometimes playing it simple but progressively is the better choice.
Meslier quite rightly took the plaudits but as others have said Adams was everywhere, he has one hell of an engine.

They could have scored a few. And so could we. But he really ought to be giving Leeds the credit. And he should be ashamed of this Liverpool team that aren't a shadow of the team he played for (or the Liverpool of the last 5 years). Thought he was a stronger man. Can't believe he's making excuses for a sloppy performance.

Mes definitely mom, i'd go so far to say that's his best all round performance for us ever, i can't recall a better one ?
Rasmus best on the pitch closely followed by a few, but probably aaronson whose proving to be our most consistent player week in week out, his game doesn't seem to fluctuate at all and you get what it says on the tin.

All they do is sing YAWN at the beginning and at the end (if they win) and that's considered an amazing atmosphere.

Started Harrison and Summerville on wrong sides. I didn't get that. Harrison has always been better on left and was only accommodating Sinsiterra by playing on right. And Summerville has played much more on the right side. I get inverted winger stuff. But both players are better playing on their natural side.Kennyb41 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 9:42 pm To be blunt Paul it was tactically wrong in the first place but at least he changed it for the better.
I 100% want him to succeed but he keeps giving massive warning signs and it's got to be backed up with something tactically smart against the teams that are gonna make it hard for us, there was also nothing in that game that showed me good possession, it was still frantic ball but yes it worked against a suitable opponent playing how it suits such.
I'm still not confident enough to say '''fck yeah we're gonna smash Bournemouth' because it depends on what Jesse does and which Leeds team turns up.
But, he's given me that glimmer again when i had us for dead n buried, just please back it up.
Funny thing was though, Harrison played better in the 1st half than he did 2nd half. Go figure. Wonder if Jimmy keeps Harrison out when Sinsiterra comes back.

Thought it was interesting to note the similarities in style between us and Liverpool.

Cooper is becoming a concern. I always thought our defence looked better when he played. He's been the defensive leader. We keep more clean sheets when he plays. But the last 2 games he's been a liability. What now? Back to Llorente? Stick with Cooper? Change it in January by signing a left back and putting Strujik where he belongs?

Never has.
If he had proper number 10s we probably wouldn't see Harrison for example at all, he simply is an awkward fit.
So he tried to invert them as obviously that encourages players to cut inside and stay narrow which is what Marsch wants.
Unfortunately the skills required to do that, composure, close control, vision are lacking so it doesn't work.

Great result hopefully we can get some momentum. Suits us playing open teams. We need to be better against. Counter attacking ones. Radz is a scumbag

I think Harrison might get sold in the transfer window if Newcastle offer something tempting and a player on the wanted list is available. Any talk of an improved contract is purely a value matter rather than wanting to keep him long term. I suspect he may also be open to a change. His body language has not been right for quite a while.

Based on form. Harrison needs to fight his way back in. Thought he started game well today with a couple of good counter attcking runs. But drifted out 2nd half.
They probably won't drop him though. He hasnt signed a contract yet. And if we don't play him, his transfer value drops too.

Hope so. The fact Marsch isn't picking Firpo shows he doesn't rate him. Can't be good for Radz and Orta.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 9:58 pm Change it in January by signing a left back and putting Strujik where he belongs?

Harrison hasn't been offered a new contract yet. Makes me wonder if they're still hoping to sign a 10 in January and sell him.Cjay wrote: ↑Sat Oct 29, 2022 9:59 pm Said before but think that is simply because Jesse doesn't use wingers
