Any one who still gives a s**t about this shower of crap squad is going to be sorely disappointed come May. There’s not such as an ember of hope in sight - we don’t even have a sodding manager, just a set of individuals with no idea what they are doing. Everton are absolutely terrible, but for a fluke goal they didnt lay a glove on us and still win so what does that say for us .

Maybe Marsch not the problem then eh.
I’m inclined to agree that his hands were somewhat tied. But he could’ve tried being more tactically flexible. Substitutions, especially in the beginning of the year were awful. Looked completely lost against Forest in his last game. Bringing on Rodri against Accrington with 10 minutes to go was beyond the pale. And bringing in Rasmus in the summer transfer window was just awful. The Premier League is tight margins and he was on the wrong end of too many poor decisions.

That's the issue now isn't it.

1st mistake was appointing Marsch

2nd was not sacking him during the World Cup break

3rd was not sacking him before January window shut.

Every decent manager wants time to implement there methods and the opportunity to bring in there players

We allowed both of that to pass us by.

Emery wouldn't have touched Villa had it been now.

It's staggering incompetence.

JoeDenver wrote: Sat Feb 18, 2023 5:52 pm Well that’s was underwhelming…

We got pushed off the ball at will and couldn’t win the ball back ourselves. Everton swarmed and crowded us out of everything (possession, passing, positioning, etc.)

Rutter was encouraging and I’d like to see him on for Bamford from here on. Absolutely nothing to lose. Rutter actually showed some initiative. Bamford with another whiff! FFs!!!

Harrison had another absolute shocker. He belongs nowhere near set pieces as he’s proven “reliably unreliable” there. And his attacking awareness and passing has fallen off considerably as the season has gone on. He needs benching and should be confined to being Willy’s substitute from this point forward. To think we could’ve gotten 20million pounds for him!! We’ll be lucky to get half that by season end.

McKennie and Adams didn’t have their best games. McKennie had a couple of half creative chances, but we had no one home on any (as was the case for everyone throughout). Adams too often punted the ball upfield without much thought for my liking. I’d really like to see a midfield trio of Roca - Adams - McKennie when Roca is healthy (thereby relegating Harrison to the bench).

Rasmus belongs back to where he came from…unless Ayling is healthy. He’s a shadow of himself at the start of the year. Bad giveaways, poor positioning, he was just terrible. I’d be happy to get half his transfer fee back if at all possible. A complete waste.

I think a sitting or two would benefit Meslier. Too often guilty of 1-2 shambolic decisions per game (along with 1-2 amazing saves). But leaving the near post that wide open is a mistake Conference keepers wouldn’t make. What a howler.

Firpo wasn’t bad, but certainly not great…had a few bad giveaways.

I don’t fault Koch for the goal. Meslier has to do better.

Was Ayling our best player again? I just wish his long balls were just a touch softer as they always tend to go too long.

Thought Aaronson was a decent spark, but again is getting pushed off the ball too easily.

Gnonto and Summerville were quiet…hounded all game and I don’t think his teammates knew where to go in order to help them. Although they both tended to hold onto the ball too much. Not sure if that was a strategy to slow the game down, but it was evident even in the 80th minute with Gnonto.

Overall an incoherent performance.

Really hoping to avoid the drop, but feels like we’re doomed especially with all the bottom sides having such positive results today. A dagger to the heart.
Agree with Meslier. He is beginning to give me the Casilla yips
Re Harrison. It is easy to knock a winger who is played out of position isnt it? He isn't a 10 ( even a wide 10) which is why we should have cashed in on him.
Ironically when he was allowed to play wide he put one on a plate for Bamford.

Rasmus ballsed up a throw in today, what else did he do wrong?

Do you really think a MF of Mckennie, Roca and Adams is going to create for the forwards?

Roca 20 games 1 goal 1 assist
Adams 20 games 0 goals 0 assists
McK 25 games 3 goals 2 assists

Summerville looked disinterested. But as alluded to there was no 10 to work little triangular moves with so no wonder he was out of it. Same for Willy on the other side.

But it all came back to the middle of the park and no creative spark.

I still have some hope we can survive - there are some bad teams around us. But Bamford and Harrison cannot start the next game. All this suggestion we play better with them in the team is only useful if we can actually get something out of a game. Neither look like creating or scoring a goal at this level. Indecision and desperation is the reality of their current form.

Unfortunately we have few alternatives, but both are likely to play better coming off the bench.

I lay ALL the blame at the door of those that wanted Bert sacked, and ultimately those that indeed sacked him whoever they are, the rot started then, i don't even think he could dig us out of this shite and we're back at square one.

Fck knows who we'll bring in and Lord help whomever.

I sincerely wish we could get the England womens coach.

Agree completely re: cashing in on Harrison.

Re: Rasmus, I thought he was very timid and unlike his fearless self from earlier in the year. Bad throw, but didn’t really do much either. Maybe I’m being too harsh and judging on recent bad performances.

I don’t think Aaronson is afraid of the ball as his movement to receive the ball (and win it back) is pretty good, but he’s definitely afraid of the people around him when he has it :). Maybe we’re saying the same thing. For me, he belongs in a less intense league….maybe the Netherlands or a lower level Bundesliga team, but I don’t see an EPL player. And I doubt he’d thrive in the Championship either, given its physicality. Another poor decision of Marsch to bring him in.

Re: the midfield trio of Roca - Adams -
McKennie, I agree that the immediate assist numbers would be of concern, but their numbers have come from playing in a 2 man setup (Roca and Adams, anyway). I think the ball possession and assist numbers will improve in the three man setup. At a minimum the pass prior to the assist will be better (hope that makes some sense). And it can’t hurt anything given that the season is shot.

Here goes a rant. That display was shite. I watched the end of the 1st half, and all of the second half and that will be time I can never get back. I feel for the lifelong Leeds fans. Me as an American who have watched and/or followed every game this season, I am emotionally tied to the team as well and this season has been a rollercoaster of emotions and these types of losses put major dampers on my day and week.

That being said, today was the worst performance ive seen all campaign. This was worse then the Brentford thrashing earlier in the season. Their was absolutely no plan, and no identity. Most games this season we have looked the better team against the lower level prem teams, even if the results haven't shown it. Today we looked second best to trash Everton team who I witnessed get blown out 4-0 against an MLS team Minnesota United in the summer, albeit under Lampard.

Bamford has been terrible and has cost us points in several games with his lack of clinical finishing. It's frustrating and sad to watch. Rodders is heavily missed. Even though Jesse wasn't getting results and it came harder and harder to defend him as the season went on, the decision to fire him was horrible timing. I don't believe it can be any worse timing. I think the Rodders injury and timing of it sealed his fate, which is deserved. That injury in that game coming on as a sub was a terrible decision for Marsch and the team is suffering the consequences. Other then that, I feel the Leeds faithful were too hard on him as Leeds have just lacked quality in a lot of positons and depth. At least the team had an identity and we're exciting to watch. He should have either been sacked much earlier, or at the very least their should have been a plan in place to replace him. Terrible timing and the Leeds players and faithful are paying the price. Jack Harrison has also been shite all season. Extremely slow at making decisons and has added virtually nothing to the attack. He needs to sit and even though Aaronson has struggled of late, he still is a much better option then Harrison.

Meselier, I don't see the hype. He's still very very young for a keeper and the potential is there but I don't believe he's a premier league keeper yet. That goal he allowed was terrible positioning. Their was no Everton player within 10 yards of the box, and he left the near post wide open, which was literally the only angle Coleman had. Terrible positioning and gifted them a goal which gifted them 3 points. Shocking. Gut wrenching. I had no hope after that. I didn't see us getting a result after that and all season I've been optimistic we would fight back.

This is the first time in the campaign where I believe we are getting relegated. It was a pitiful performance. I hope we can turn it around. For the Gnontos, Summervilles, Adams... Even Ayling who I've been critical of most of the season, I feel for them as they have played their hearts out and deserve more. Rant over. I hope we can stay up. GO LEEDS #MOT

I wasn't able to watch the match live today. Just finished watching on-demand. What an awful, dire performance. Most every player was terrible today. With the exception of Tyler Adams. He battled and never stopped running. Harrison was the worst player on the pitch for me. Although I will say that Worber was close. He came off at half so I wonder if he was ill. He looked a mile off the pace in the first half.

The goal was 100% on Meslier. His positioning was absolute crap on that goal. Why is he so far off his line when there are ZERO players in blue to receive a cross? He needed to be covering his near post. That is fundamental goalkeeping. Complete failure!

Credit to Coleman for punishing his mistake.

Tactically I have no idea what we were trying to do going forward. At least with Jesse there was a plan. It might have been a shitty plan but it was a plan. And we looked a lot more dangerous than we did today.
