So I was watching the game again, particularly looking at the goals we conceded. Meslier made a howler for the 2nd and should have saved the 4th.

But what strikes me is the time and space we allow players on the edge of the box to just pick their spot. The 1st goal is truly awful. What Roca was doing running after the attacker and leaving a huge hole is what you see when kids play. McKennie also got sucked by a runner into the 6 yard box. When Lerma scored we had 5- 6 players between him and the goal. Cooper had already committed to blocking the previous shot so was out of it. Roca was just in no man’s land, McKennie attempted a very half hearted block on Lerma, Neither Koch or the other defender made an attempt to stand on the line and reduce the size of the goal.
So when Gracia says they are making basic mistakes he is right. But what is being done about it. The goals are just getting more calamitous each game. The 3rd was another complete sh*t show. That ball over the top to their guy on the right who caused us a lot of problems was into absolute acres of space. The defenders were too slow to react making the assumption he wouldn’t be able to keep it in. The aftermath was horrendous and the 4th was just frighteningly easy. The way they cut through us is shocking.

The Roca / McKennie partnership has to be changed. Those two are offering very little protection to our defence and there is no energy, drive or creativity. McKennie is lost without Adams next to him. I do not sense any real partnership or even communication between Roca and McKennie. If we are to have chance of getting something out of our last 4 games this has to be sorted.

Just outside Philadelphia. Been here quite a few times ( did a 3 month road trip last Spring ) so just taking it easy on this trip. Heading off to Canada for 10 days and will visit Montreal, Toronto and then Niagara falls.
Hoping to get tickets to watch the Union play at some point also taking in a Phillies game as well. Not that i know much about baseball though

If we do get tickets for the Union game i will be interested to see how Kia Wagner plays, people on here were talking about him possibly joining us last season.
I was out last year and saw some Union games on tv and have to say i wasn't impressed enough to want him in our team. Granted he has a very good left foot and takes corners and free kicks but his actual defending i thought left a lot to be desired. Gives opposition players a lot of time to make a decision about what they want to do with the ball. Never seemed to close down men quickly. So I'm hoping he plays and see if anything has changed.
BTW I'm no expert, unlike some on here

Actually stopped off in Denver last March for a few days then onto Grand Junction for 2 days before heading onwards. Got lovely weather as well which made it more enjoyable.
I have skied in the Rockies in the past a few times, its a great area.

We gifted Bournemouth four goals with the same stupid errors we've witnessed all season.

So many hit & miss performances.

How the hell are we supposed to win matches with such a weak central midfield?

Forshaw produced more in the first ten minutes he was on the pitch than McKennie did in 70 minutes.

Wober, Koch, Summerville, Gnonto, Ayling & Forshaw our best performers.

Meslier needs to be rested for his own sanity & peace of mind.
