I start Cresswell with Rodon, I trust him more than Pascal, it will be interesting to see who Farke selects as our CB pair

As the senior man, I don't think Strujik will get dropped. For me it's Strujik with a decision between Cresswell and Rodon.

Agree, Andrew - Rodon and Cresswell are both big units - just the recipe for the Championship. With Ampadu in front of them, plus someone decent to replace Adams, we may start to plug a few holes.

Would expect it to be Cresswell and Struyjk at the weekend, managers tend not to throw new signings in straightaway unless they have no choice, i.e. injuries. Given that Rodon will have just 1 days training I think he would be on the bench this week and it is up to Cresswell, and Struyjk to a lesser degree if we are having a left footer and right footer, to keep the shirt.

Time for Cresswell to come of age in the white shirt. Opportunity has knocked - now he has the game to grasp it with both hands. The only fly in the ointment is that Farke started Ayling as RCB against Shrewsbury if I recall correctly. I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come against Birmingham. Strong, physical big units in the CB position are generally the chosen pairing in this league.

This is what his coach said after the last day of the championship, during which he started, and which saw Rennes qualify for the Europa League: "Joe also deserves a lot of respect. to be the one to be saluted the most. For him it was difficult. I did not give him a present, to anyone, and particularly to him. He could have claimed things, he never did, he has always kept an extraordinary state of mind. Tonight, he comes back he was great on and off the field. " So yes, he can miss games completely, it happened in Rennes, or in the national team, but also show his qualities in physical engagement, heading, motivation. His weak points: a certain slowness, a difficult recovery, a few omissions in marking. I wish him the best at home, he deserves it. A good guy !

The policy of the Rennes club is to favor young people from the training center, and a starting place risked not being guaranteed to him. In addition, his recovery difficulties posed a problem in the coach's style of play. I think for a mid-table team he would have done the job, but Rennes for a few years have been in the top 5 teams in Ligue 1. His move to Rennes was due to the serious injury of the holder, Omari, who came back sooner than expected. So Rodon played little afterwards. One thing is certain: he fights, is always motivated, and does not cheat.

Been away this weekend so haven't be able to see the WBA game yet - will do so soon. But if he can be anything like Ben White, he would be a tremendous asset.

The baggies were bombing in crosses from corners & throw ins to their giants, but we generally appeared comfortable with Rodon at the heart of everything good at the back, ably assisted by Pascal & Sam with numerous defensive headers.

Rodon follows the Ben White schooling, coming from a Premier League club after excelling in the championship.

Dominant in the air, nice footwork & can pass a football.

Rodon will be excellent at championship level.

The difference is Rodon was the best CB in the Championship at Swansea. Llorente was an average bench warmer at Real Sociedad.
