Whos says those are the positions ?
I go

Klaesson
Shackleton Rodon Firpo
Gruev
Gray Ampadu Anthony
Gnonto Piroe
Bamford

Shack and Firpo not really defenders in the true sense of the word, both attacking wing backs, if you're right it's a one man defence covered by Gruev and Amps

In fact if it is a back three then Rodon Gruev Ampadu would seem to be the better 3

Well if Ampadu is CH I give up on Farke, absolutely no need whatsoever to put him there, he hasn't done before so why dally with new tactics now !!
My set up is enough to cover, If Shacks and that clown on the left are specifically told to defend with Gruev staying deep, then what's the issue, the firepower in midfield and up front is plenty.
Is Farke becoming the Leeds "Tinkerman "

Just remember how everyone saw the starting line up at Birmingham... too much of a change... that is bever going to work, yet we beat them 3-0

This is another surprise line up with 6 changes. We can only hope the result will be the same. If things get hairy as they often do in the FA cup we have strong bench to call on

History has not treated us well in recent years in this competition (Histon Newport Sutton)

I know, very diplomatic our DF is, i like it and him.

Birmingham was a good line up IIRC.. the 6 changes the game before wasn't and it cost us. IMO

It will be interesting to see how Piroe plays the 10 role. I am assuming he has Shacks in midfield playing the 8 role. Lot of energy alongside him. Bamford won’t be dropping deep looking for the ball as much as Geo does
playing 9.

I love it from DF, all the second string get a run out whilst trying a number of different things.

I expect us to lose as Posh are full strength with the team that did Derby 2-3 away, so i've gone for a nice little earner. first goalscorer, correct score and goals.

I just hope the broken biscuit factory doesn't pull up coz we're gonna need him fit till season end for promotion.

The Subhuman wrote: Sun Jan 07, 2024 1:17 pm If he is going on loan then that maybe in the works, ditto Ayling who could have stepped in at centre half today. But yes I was hoping to see a CC/Rodon partnership today... think it might work even if both are right sided. Amps at CB has me worried
Think he is taking a risk with that defence.

And if something happens to Ampadu or Rodon also then it's a problem.

Peterborough are a good side for the level they play at, they score goals, 2 per game on average, not sure its the time for so much players in wrong positions

What are his options without Rodon or Amps in the team. We don’t really know the reasoning behind CC’s absence. But I agree an injury to either would be a blow.

He won't, but i wouldn't mind seeing a 4-4-2.

It'll be 4-2-3-1, unless he anchors Gruev and makes a 4-1-4-1, doubt it though.

Ampadu in at CB.
Can you blame Charlie Cresswell for wanting away.
Not even on the bench.
Got a feeling this is going to be a tough afternoon with the panic substitutions on 70 minutes
Lets see....

The match is going well - Ampadu scores and Bamford just after half time.
No panic this time..... :)
