He's Leeds & he knows he is.
I suspect Boro' fans are cursing him this morning.

Really great of him to come out and do this when he had to know the fans would go nuts and probably mob him

Re: Luke Ayling- Farewell Bill
I doubt it - it isn't like he left Leeds under a storm. Sounds like the Boro fans have taken to him and they will probably be hoping to sign him on a free. I think most Boro fans are closet Leeds fans anyway, sort of like how you support your local team and a 'big' team......
Wonder if I can get myself mentioned on a Boro forum like what happened with the Southampton flat track bullies thread I made.

I bumped into Luke in the car park and duly called him a boro twat.
He had a laugh.

Great bloke and a great servant for Leeds.

I caught him as he was just coming out of the Peacock garden and managed to get a photo of my granddaughter with him. I said it was good to see him and he thanked me but he's so lovely anyway.AcrossThePondAsh wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 8:16 am Really great of him to come out and do this when he had to know the fans would go nuts and probably mob himHe's so polite and friendly with everyone. Class act - although, from everyone's reactions, I'm surprised he was able to actually get away and find time to watch the match.

Re: Luke Ayling- Farewell Bill
Middlesbrough have signed Luke Ayling on a permanent two-year deal with his contract at Leeds United about to expire.
Ayling initially joined Boro on loan in January where he made 19 appearances and had eight assists.
The 32-year-old will spend the next two years at the Riverside, having been with Leeds since 2016.
"We're delighted that Luke is staying with us," said Boro head coach Michael Carrick.

Re: Luke Ayling- Farewell Bill
He was always going to leave. Farke didn't think he was good enough for a championship team chasing automatic promotion. Back up player at best. Ayling deserved to go somewhere he would play. I'm glad he got a permanent move to Boro. He didn't want to relocate his family. So good move for him.1964white wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 5:37 am Middlesbrough have signed Luke Ayling on a permanent two-year deal with his contract at Leeds United about to expire.

I'll always rate him a club legend. Key figure in getting us promoted. Started almost every game under Bielsa. Scored one of the best Leeds goals we'll ever see. In our first PL season, pushed himself into England consideration. All that from a cast off that had to build back from the lower leagues. A true personality even with a social handicap. Always happy, loveable, and iconic. Always a club man through an through. Ayling will always be one of my favourite LUFC players. He had everything that mattered and offered several moments that will be seen by future generations.
And he still comes back to support the club. Even though that might cause discord with his current fan club. Amazing what a generation and culture we got from Bielsa. Cooper, Ayling, Dallas, Pablo, Klich, Alioski, Phillips will forever be a part of this club. How many other clubs have the sense of belonging that we have?

Sad, but seemingly happy to get two year deal at Boro. All the best Luke.

Of course he did. He’s hardly going to tell you to do one is he? Not to a mask-wearing psychopath jumping out on him from behind a red Cortina.mentalcase wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 11:32 am I bumped into Luke in the car park and duly called him a boro twat.

Great post and although sad that he’s going permanently I’m happy he was able to prove his worth. A great person and wish him all the luck in the world unless playing us.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 5:55 am He was always going to leave. Re: Luke Ayling
Middlesbrough defender Luke Ayling said that he was "hurt" at bringing an end to his career at Leeds United.
"Leaving Leeds hurt then, and to leave the boys I'd spent five, six, seven years with certainly hurt," he said.
"I found it tough to leave at the time that I did," Ayling told the My Mate's A Footballer podcast.
"I still felt like I could help the team and get them to where they wanted to go.
"But it all came down to myself wanting to play football. It was either stay there for six months, sit on the bench or even not make the squad, or get out and play some football.
"I've been given a home at Boro and I'm really enjoying it."
Ayling was swayed by receiving a call from Boro head coach Michael Carrick telling him how much he was wanted at the Riverside Stadium.
"Speaking to someone like Michael and him showing how much he wants me gave me the confidence I needed at the time.
"My confidence was a bit low - we had just finished in the Premier League and it didn't finish too well. It was a tough 18 months really.
"So to have Michael say he really wants me to come to the club and put my mark on things, it was just nice."
