The opposition rely heavily on set pieces it's in their game plan, they all know they can't match us for ball retention so adjust tactically.
You would think we would spend a lot of time e I. Training ready for such things on match day.

Very frustrating player for me, good engine but too easily knocked about and loses the ball a lot.
A bit of calmness about his overrall game and he'd be far better, head up and look, not head down and run.
I have to agree 100 %.He has a lack of awareness,he runs around like a headless chook,he turns up his own backside &
looks like he is going to fall over his own feet.

Yet, Brenden is top of our MOTM polls.
He can't be that bad with six months of the season gone.
Farke continually picks Aaronson for a good reason.

He's done OK has Aaronson for us in the Championship. He puts a shift in and chases around all over the pitch. He's got some goals but also he's not done as well as he should have in front of goal. I have no doubt that he is giving it his best but the blunt reality is that he falls short in two aspects which are irretrievable - he lacks physicality and he is short on quality. He gets knocked off the ball easily and when he does try to put a foot in he is easily brushed off. Falls over a bit too easily too. He gets opportunities in matches to make telling passes but makes the wrong decisions or does not quite play the right ball. Seems to be unable to play anything other than the frantic style which leads to mistakes
He's OK in this team where there is no competition for his place and in a group that dominates games more often than not. For me though he is a very frustrating player. As I say, he's OK at this level and might be in the MLS but anything higher and he'd struggle

Oh, there's no doubt Brenden is frustrating, Phoenix, drives me mad at times. However, he is an important cog in the current squad & at this level, we wouldn't be top without his services, Farke knows it & I'm sure if some of our fans consider his contribution, they would think the same!

He has been fantastic for us this season. I do not understand a lot of the criticism. There are areas of his game he can improve. Personally when he is running with the ball into space he is far too straight lined for me. This lack of unpredictability makes it easier for a player to tackle him.
Weds tackled him a few times on the break - and to be fair they were very well timed. Part of the problem is on occasion when do break and he is the ball carrier he is not blessed with options. DJ is the main outlet because he has so much pace. It is not easy for a right footed player to thread a pass on the run to the right side.
Much easier if had a runner on his left. Solomon is not the quickest and Piroe is not going to make ground. If we have Willy or Rami on the left and Joseph on the pitch he would find it easier to pick a pass earlier.
IMO The dynamics of the break need to be considered before jumping on the “ he loses the ball too easily bandwagon “.
Areas he can improve without a doubt, but an essential part of our team this season.

Spot on and totally agree, he can get away with it in this league because of the opposition mostly but certainly won't in the Prem
Where is his calmness !!! He hasn't got any he's Bielsas roberts only better.
Very poor 10 if thats what he's meant to be, ought to be getting better but he isn't, this league is his barrow.

Some of our fans only remember Aaronson's errors
4 in all
19 very good pieces of play from Brenden, but those good moments are forgotten.
Agree with much that’s been said here. I think he’s come a long way this season. I was wondering if he’ll make the leap to even being a solid contributor, as I did not rate him in his previous time here (under Marsch). He’s added the necessary toughness and grit to his game, which has made him more useful, and, not surprisingly that has translated in more minutes.
I’ve now pivoted to being a fan. I, do, however agree with much that has been said here about areas he can improve. He still has the tendency to hold the ball too long when dribbling. I think it was Locky who put in a video over the summer pointing out this as an area for him to improve. But let’s face it, it’s the Championship and no player is a finished product. In terms of overall goals and assists, I think he’s on par with Rutter last season. And let’s not forget that Georgi had issues with holding onto the ball too long at times. Is he better than Georgi? Probably not. But just as effective for us, IMO.

The same fans who only noticed Rutter's things that came off and not the countless things that ended up with us losing the ball or the fans in row Z having to throw it back.

Rutter vs Aaronson wasn't close on practically any level
Nobody wanted Georgie replaced last January (the opposite in fact).
Aaronso does a job, Rutter was an absolute standout in this league.
Faultless? Absolutely not.
But far far more positives than BA.
Still think Aaronson is a box to box midfielder anyway.
He's done OK BA, no comparison with Georgie.
Rutter was a standout for what he could do, but so many times he didn't. If you try the killer pass and it works once in every ten times then is it better to have that then a player who doesn't try that pass but keeps possession 7 or 8 times in 10?
Both have a lot to improve on, both should. Rutter should go higher but Aaronsen is probably the better fit in this team at present, mainly due to the workrate. You also only get the same reward for a tap in as you do for scoring a worldie.

Its hard to look back at the turmoil of players leaving under loan clauses, at the time most fans including myself were really upset by the way some player put themselves before their parent club that was definitely going through some tough times.
Brenden Aaronson was one player I would launch into major rants about how he has let us down at this time.. Fast forward and for me he has taken the abuse from fans and really worked hard for the benefit of the team. Not only has Brenden redeemed himself, he has improved as a player. bringing more aspects to his overall play. He needs more work on awareness and releasing the ball quickly, shooting is another area but as a team member for the Leeds United first team he has imo made up for past mistakes..... Lets hope he continues to improve.....Well done Brenden, keep up the work rate and help us get to the Premiership..
Brenden did all his excellent work in the first 30 seconds with two delightful passes in the build-up for Soloman. Once again, worked tirelessly in yet another 90th+ minute shift.
