Terra Australis it is.
We landed in Sydney NSW, but right now we are in Canberra. Strong sunshine, clear blue skies but with a refreshing chill to the air.

Second and last night in the capital then driving back to Sydney at around 1pm tomorrow. On the way back we'll see dozens of road kill along the way, roos, wallaby and a few birds. On the way down to Camberra we stopped at a remote rest stop to water the plants, stretch the legs, etc. I paid no attention to the swooping magpie signs and paid the price. Whilst framing a selfie one swooped down to attack twice forcing me to duck and then prepare to fight if it tried a third sortie. A stick thrown in its direction forced it to retreat to a broken branch as I then backed away toward the car. Feisty little buggers they are.

Two beaches up from Manly a brave 56 year old surfer lost his life to a shark attack, whilst warning others about the shark spotted in the surf. Helicopters could then been seen searching for the shark to frighten it away.

Other than a biblical 2 day rain storm it's been superb so far, warm, sunny and endless beach front. Highly recommend Sydney NSW as a holiday destination, although they say Aus is expensive there's always places to shop and eat cheaply. The food is great, the transport system isn't privatised so its cheap, just top up the oyster card with $20 and you'll be amazed at how far you travel on £10.
