Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Fair play to him.
Will hopefully give him a confidence boost atleast, maybe he can get a goal.
Only concern would be his fitness.
I would be surprised if he made the final squad but never know.

Congratulations Dominic.
Farke has his trust in you, now Tuchel must be impressed with you.
Forgot what some fans think about you on social media!

It's a look/see same as Bamford a few years ago... With any luck though DCL's form will improve upon the news.. doesn't need to be playing for England in his current form. Strikers need to score goals..

I noticed no Ollie Watkins in the squad. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2026 11:58 am It's a look/see same as Bamford a few years ago... With any luck though DCL's form will improve upon the news.. doesn't need to be playing for England in his current form. Strikers need to score goals..
If Calvert-Lewin makes the World Cup squad, he would surely just be a back-up for Harry Kane.

Probably giving Ollie a break, I think he goes, plus there's Toney as well.

Watkins is not prolific, only eight Premier League goals this season. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2026 12:11 pm Probably giving Ollie a break, I think he goes, plus there's Toney as well.
Toney is playing in some money grabbing tin-pot league, and shouldn't be selected for that reason alone.

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
It's the same amount of open play goals as DCL tbf.
I think Tuchel is just trying to look at everyone.
Can anyone see Dan Burn or John Stones going to the World Cup?
I think he's giving them a chance but be surprised if DCL goes.
Hopefully he can get a goal and get some form back

It won't matter which players he selects as we have no chance of winning the World Cup.Cjay wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2026 12:24 pm It's the same amount of open play goals as DCL tbf.

Apparently Kane doesn't join squad until after Uruguay game so DCL will get on at some stage. Might even start.

Neither is DCL ... neither are on form at the moment. If DCL's the answer we're in a sorry stare headed to the WCF... he's decent but I hope he's not our number 1 next season should we stay up..

Last thing Watkins needs is a break from final training squad before a World Cup.The Subhuman wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2026 12:11 pm Probably giving Ollie a break, I think he goes, plus there's Toney as well.
I think Tuchel has just realised he's not that good.

From BBC
"It's our the last camp [before the World Cup]. The last opportunity to impress and the last opportunity for players to compete for their ticket," Tuchel said.
Tuchel said to "get the best out of this camp" a decision was made to split it into two camps, with 11 players joining the squad after the Uruguay game.
The 11 players are: Dean Henderson, Dan Burn, Marc Guehi, Ezri Konsa, Nico O'Reilly, Elliot Anderson, Declan Rice, Morgan Rogers, Anthony Gordon, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka.

Looks like Tuchel has made his mind up on the above eleven.
A chance to impress for the rest.

Watkins offers nothing when he's not scoring, whereas Calvert-Lewin is a constant menace for our opponents defences. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2026 1:08 pm Neither is DCL ... neither are on form at the moment. Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
DCL needs to find form and score some goals for us, that's his job, to score goals, not just run about and win headers. We've previously had fans singing Bamford's praises last season when he held the ball up in a 15 minute cameo, which is absolutely laughable.
It's all well and good being ultra cautious in an effort to not concede. That's appropriate when we're playing Arsenal, and City, or say to avoid being battered by PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. But in the EPL we're not playing teams that are near that standard, as evidenced in the recent UCL matches.
In an effort to creep to 38 points by drawing matches Farke has us set up to be risk averse, so when the opportunities to be more positive do arise, such as Sunderland and Palace, we don't take them and miss out on wins. We've scored one goal in our last 4 matches, which is diabolical. Where are the goals and wins gonna come from?
DCL had a great run of 7 goals scored in 6 matches from 29-11-25 to 28-12-25, which is effectively a one month purple patch. Since then he has scored 2 goals in 11 matches, hardly the form that should be rewarded with an England number 9 shirt, but that's, Kane apart, reflective of the standard of strikers available to Tuchel. Long gone are the days of Wright, Fowler, Owen, Shearer, Heskey, and Sheringham.
We have 2 wins from our last 13 matches, which for me is not coincidental that this barren run began when DCL's scoring spree ended. Today is a must win match and hopefully DCL emphasizes the justification of reaching his frequently stated goal of being included in the England World Cup squad.

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Well I have to say that I am a bit surprised to see DCL in an England squad but then I suppose it is a friendly and Tuchel is looking at options. I wish him well. His form of late has been quite ordinary.
He's done OK for us this season but if we stay up I would hope that we will looking for a better quality CF next season TBH.

Ten goals & didn't cost a fee.
11 goals from Ekltike - £82m
11 goals from Gyökeres - £65m
9 goals from Mbeumo - £70m
I don't understand our fan's opinions on here.

A text from a Liverpool pal of mine
'Can't knock the lad . He's been a brilliant signing for LUFC .
Always a danger, even when not scoring - even more with 10 goals .
What's their problem ?
