Well if you can get your couch through your doorway not end first then I guess you do have wide doorways. My couch is 7 foot wide, my doors are 2 foot 6

Good take Sub, though I think if he's going to be involved at Brighton, I don't think he'd have an issue at getting regular minutes with us. Been pretty decent this year.... If we were getting decent money I'd say its an excellent time to sell at 26.The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sun Jun 28, 2026 12:32 pm My guess is they sat down for a talk and couldn't say he'd be a starter. Bijol was supposed to be the replacement but he failed and we've been linked with a couple of left footed CB's already. I don't think the new financial system works for us this season and we have to sell to buy. As long as it's not on an inferior, harder to pronounce and spell name than Pascal's, for 25M.
Struijk had his best season for us. Minimum top 3 player, my POTS. Great servant to the club, doesn't deserve the mudslinging. The quiet leader.. I'll miss him
Bijol has been pretty much an ever present in the back 5 system since switching from a back 4 Christmas and genuinely looks ace to me but not the same profile as Struijk. As for the links there's been a few recently but only seen one lefty (know they're hard to come by) so will be surprised if we get someone of Struijks calibre for the same money.
Been very good last season but does switch off traditionally (though last season cut that right out) and looks like a top defender now.
Nothing against Struijk BTW, just annoyed with the crap management of assets by 49'rs.

Re: Pascal Struijk to Brighton
Psr limit is horseshit..... We have a limit but we are no where near it.
Now that sounds quite inflammatory but I think its caution from the 49'rs rather than not wanting to spend.
The issue is balancing what we need right now with the drag of the championships accounting losses for the 3 year period. If we can stay up another season by relatively low cost high output players (DCL/nmecha perfect case) then the situation becomes a lot more stable.
I just hope there's a plan to transition into a stable prem team like a Brighton, Brentford or Bournemouth. We're certainly not great with selling players for high value when their price is high and reinvesting which does worry me a fair bit.

Re: Pascal Struijk to Brighton
If we signed a player in January for £30m on a 4 1/2 year deal then the fee would have equated to £30m/9 for PSR purposes as only the 1/2 year of the contract length would have been in this year's finances. So, £3.333m. So hardly would have effected or PSR limit - whereas selling a player - such as Struijk - would see the full figure go into the years balances sheet. As such circa £15m.
As such the club was possibly willing to gamble a little, i.e. we may already have been £10m over the PSR limit, and were then hoping to sell someone such as Wober, Ramazzani, Joseph or Harrison before the end of the season to lower the PSR defecit or erase it. The backup plan being to sell someone like Struijk or Gnonto if we still needed funds.

I think the only Niners player we made a profit on was Glenn Kamara? (3.5M in profit?) If you buy at 27+ then depreciation is almost instanteneous so it's difficult to see that change.

Re: Pascal Struijk to Brighton
Yet when Wober signed for us in the prem he was seen by many on here s our best defender and Struijk was merely a footnote in that story,The Subhuman wrote: ↑Mon Jun 29, 2026 6:11 pm Nowhere near in Struijk's class but he is left footed and probably better than the Wolves lad.. when fit, didn't he just miss the entire season?

Haha! I definitely knew he hadn’t played a full 90 this past season. My comment was definitely “tongue in cheek”, thus my “ducking” reference.
In all seriousness, I’d like to see us make an honest run at securing Esteve from Burnley. Looks the part and has the experience while being slightly younger.
