James Trafford

Post by Cjay »

Held off but David Ornstein gave the nod.

We are progressing in talks for 23 year old England international goalie James Trafford

Best known of course for us anyway by performing miracles for Burnley in their promotion campaign his spell at Manchester city hasn't worked out

He is a modern goalie

Known for his calmness under pressure

Sweeper keeper skills and playing out from the back as well as his excellent shot stopping

Weaknesses have been commanding his area and high pressure situations.

As well as being largely unproven at the top level which is a concern given the likely fees involved

Yes

Didn't have time to do it myself, was lazy :)

But actually I think it means calmness as in playing out from the back and struggling in big games.

That’s alright then, we’re Leeds United, we don’t have big games.

Are you clairvoyant, Kev? Or have I slept in and missed the official reveal?

I still think he'll end up at Newcastle. The Saudis will want a big signing after missing out on a few and selling Gordon and Tonali.

Probably a bit too excited OB.

I wanted this one all summer, as you probably will have gathered from my other posts elsewhere.

He’s a proper player, and we do not have many of them.

This would be a statement signing for us.

Fingers and everything else crossed for it to happen.

Charles would be a statement signing for me as Muharemovich was, I think with Trafford it depends on the price. 40M is over paying big time for an unproven player

James Trafford buy-back clause?

I'd imagine that's to keep the price down and probably only becomes relevant after a few years

TBF, we could have trained up Perri and Meslier so if we could we surely would.. Meslier's issues were always coachable
