Leave on Thursday morning for the one and one-half hour flight to Chicago.
Four hour layover.
Eight hour flight to London, arriving Friday morning.
Shuttle to King's Cross.
Three and one-half hours to Leeds.
Five or six pints and a steak and ale pie at Whitelock's while waiting for check-in time at the hotel.
Up at dawn the next day to buy out the club shop before the crowd hits.
Pints at the Peacock and fish and chips at Gravely's before the game.
Scream my lungs out for a couple of hours.
I expect I'll be knackered by then.

This fixture should never be on the friendly list! Why on earth would you want to play them pre-season? Is it a money making exercise to cash in and generate fan interest? I suppose there is going to be the odd one that going to say " It doesn't bother me" but think about it we are major rivals and friends never really enter into it....It's football, lets all have a beer in the Peacock with our rivals and have a mass hug.....

We’ve stayed in the Malmaison John, it’s reasonably priced & well placed for the train. We usually stay in the Clayton or the Doubletree where the team stay before home games. You’ll have a brilliant time.John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2026 4:30 pm Malmaison

It pains me to say it but I’m gutted we’re not getting another meet up with you & the lovely lady. I’ll drink half a Guinness for you.Orange Box wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2026 2:27 pmso sad - I was, but extraordinary family commitments have ridden roughshod over my plans. I sold my tickets on the internet in less than 5 seconds, so demand must be huge.

Ah ok in that case I apologise. I do not visit the forum regularly anymore and I had not read what you had put before.Johnthewhite wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2026 11:51 am It was a joke comment linked to a post from Sean_Nile further up the chain. His comment was in reply to my post in which I acknowledged the goals scored and the solid contribution Piroe made during the Championship promotion season.
You must have missed it![]()

Okafor was on a enforced holiday due to the World Cup until the 8th August, as was the case with James Trafford
Both should be available for the Manure v Leeds game.

Ah, thanks 64. I thought his enforced holiday would've been over sooner as Switzerland exited before England.

Got a longer holiday for personal reasons, one assumes he's back in training tomorrow

It wasn't his enforced holiday, that ended on the 2nd or thereabouts. Switzerland went out a week earlier than England so he should have been back a week earlier than Trafford

Missed out on tickets this year. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sun Aug 09, 2026 1:25 pm On to Dublin to meet the old enemy
7.30 kick off on Wednesday and it's live on ITV, with, probably, a Manure biased commentary
Who's going?
Hope it’s not a riot, evening game, Guinness, 82 thousand fans who hate each other. I imagine the cost of policing it will be astronomical.
