I’d love another cup run similar to the FA Cup last season, it gives Farke a chance to throw a couple of fringe players in to boost morale, try some tactical changes and boost fitness levels early in the season. We were one game away from a trip to Wembley and the fans and players were loving it, bring it on.

The FA/EFL cup competitions should be one of our aims this season.

I'll always remember winning the League Cup Final under Revie in 1968.

To be honest, I would rather see players like Chadwick, Cresswell, Chamber, and Lienou all get a full run out in the cup, especially given they have not been loaned out to gain first team experience.
Just training with the first team will not help their development without game time, so use this as a chance to play them.
Other none starters from the weekend also need game time so they should also be played.

We won't be winning EFL Cup matches with such a weakened team then.

I can't see Perri starting tonight on the basis that he is only in the squad because there's silly buggers carry on over the loan to Torino etc. Also Gnonto injured unfortunately as otherwise I think he would have been a starter which would have been good as he seemed decent in pre-season. The fringe players Elvedi, Longstaff ,Tanaka , James and Nmecha really need to get starts so it's hard to see the younger players as starters but hopefully they get a chance to come on at some stage . I think Gruev is a player that DF sees as being a crucial member of his squad and I don't see him going anywhere plus I still think his two assists agains Forest last season were among my highlights of the year . In addition alongside Stach the combined weirdness of their running styles puts me in mind of Monty Python.

I get that it would be very nice to see Leeds back playing European football again, but its far too early for us to do that. We have to get a solid stability before we think about European football, at present it would put too much strain on the club.
Another nice cup run wouldn`t go a miss though. At this time of the season its always a hard call for the manager to either pick the same team and get them more used to playing with each other, or change things and give others more game time. Dammed if you do, and dammed if you don't.

I can see Perri starting. At present he is our back up keeper and it doesn't look like that will change before our next match. As such it is important to keep him match sharp as what would happen if JT played tonight but then got injured in the 1st minute of the Brentford match - in that scenario then Perri would be stepping in having not played.
