He kept coming too deep because we weren't playing forward quickly enough, just keeping the ball looking for the safe option so he got frustrated dropped and usually lost the ball.
And missed a sitter

I only blame him for missing the sitter, I have sympathy for the dropping deep and poor link play.
Isn't his game and thats a tactics thing.
But if he gets a chance like that for England and misses it he probably gets dropped.

The midfield was not moving the ball quick enough, as Cjay posted Dom kept coming deep in an effort to get in the game. Not a lot went right for Calvert-Lewin and when he's not on his game we suffer somewhat.
God helps us if he sustains an injury as Calvert-Lewin is an important cog of our set-up.
Very few players play well every game, thankfully our new No.5 does!
