Give he has been named as a target by all our reliable sources he can now have his own thread.

24 year old (nearly 25) Red Bull Salzburg and Denmark right back.

Played for FC Midtjylland in Denmark becoming a key player after breaking into the team in his late teens.

Earned a move to Dutch giants Ajax where he was a bit part player but still played a part in a double winning side.

Moved on to his present club in Austria 18 months later.

Bit parter in his first season but did win a title under Marsch and played with the likes of Erling Haaland, Karim Adeyemi, Enoch Mwepu, Patson Daka, Dominik Szoboszla and Wolves loanee Hwang Hee-Chan.

Established himself as a key player the following season under Marsch and hasn't looked back.

A big strong aggressive defender the 6ft2 Dane would give us a physical presence on that right side.

But he is more than a brute.

He is technically gifted, creative and has a goal in him as his 10 goals and 10 assists in the Austrian Bundesliga shows (including 7 goals and 4 assists last season).

Jesse Marsch could give us an edge in the race to sign him but it won't be easy.

German giants Borussia Dortmund will obviously be a pull.

You would expect Salzburg sister club Red Bull Leipzig to be monitoring the talented Dane as well.

And Brentford will be stiff competition to given the Danish connection and the fact the Brentford owner also owns FC Midtjylland so likely knows Kristensen.

However a fee of £10mil should be enough to sign him ans hopefully our seemingly good relationship with Salzburg and also Jesse Marsch's with the Red Bull franchise can give us an edge.

Seems decnet enough but never heard of him before so hard to comment and with these you tube clips they only show the good bits (like cutting to the next highlight after he has done a good run but before he delivers what was presumably a poor cross).

I do like players who get goals from positions where you don't usually get goals. We really do lack that at Leeds. U recon we probably got about 5 goals from defenders this season (possibly more if Dallas is included). Didn't get many, if any, from central mdifeld. Looks like he is worth a punt though although so hard to judge with him only doing it in the Austrian league (like Aaronsen). Think it is a great part of Red Bull's strategy to get young players and throw them into a weak league so they can find their feet quickly, especially as they already have a winning team there so it is likely a case of 3 or 4 youngsters coming in per season as 3 or 4 stars are sold so there is good continuity.

I have seen Kristensen play for Salzburg in the Champion's League. He has had some nice performances. He became a fixture in the starting 11 at Right Fullback under JM. Has good size and technical ability. And he understands the defensive system employed by JM.

If this player could be had for under $15M I think that's a good piece of business. It would be an upgrade from Luke Ayling in my opinion. And this signing would carry much less risk than signing a luxury player like Dest.

At 6ft 2 i'd imagine most of his goals coming from set pieces but it looks good anyway, be better if he's versatile and could play left as well like Dallas when needed.

Looks like we're sticking our neck out and going with Jesses recommendations for these lesser league players, it's better than Orta but i'm in Saras camp, it's a gamble....no gamble no future.

No choice really, fingers crossed, be hard to find worse than De Bock etc i suppose.

We aren't trusting Marsch or Orta for that matter.

We are putting our faith in the Red Bull Salzburg scouting department that does make mistakes but it's ability to find cheap gems puts practically every other club to shame.

A risk sure but a calculated one.

It is a risk but it is important if you appoint a manager to back him with players who fit his philosophy and style.

Rasmus Kristensen does exactly that.

He knows the role and what it entails.

He offers height and goals and assists which we severely lacked last season.

And the Red Bull Salzburg scouting department is quality

Prefer to go all in on Marsch. No half way house. Give the man what he needs and then he has no excuse if he’s not up to it. 10 games in and we’ll know. One way or the other. But these players can surely play for other managers & formations, not sure I understand the idea that they can’t

But we are not a red bull club, and if/ when Marsch fails to impress we'll be stuck with a load of niche players.

Salzburg would be top half easily in the PL and challenge for Europe too. They've got the wealthy backers and add the TV money, they'd keep their talents. The PL is very overrated. Outside of Citeh and Liverpool, it's nothing special.

Not one to defend Radz and Co but Bielsa said on numerous occasions he was grateful for the backing he had from.the board.

They spent £150mil on backing Bielsa and gave him the 2nd largest wage bill in Championship history.

He was definitely backed.

I would definitely say that was serious spin from the board to say we had the 2nd largest wage bill considering the squad we had. It wasn't like we'd signed players from the premier league or even really signed players from other championships clubs and enticed them with the wages. The only way I could see us having the 2nd largest wage bill is if we included the bonuses paid for winning promotion.

Just sour grapes from the Bielsa fall out. Again, it's a process and folk need time to heal from the trauma of it all.
