Post by Cjay »

Reports we have agreed a deal to sign 26 year old German international Hoffenheim midfielder Anton Stach on a 4 year deal.

Final fee believed to be in excess of £17million.

A Bundesliga regular first for Mainz and now for Hoffenheim for the last 4 seasons.

He Is a decent passer of the ball and a physical presence

Hopefully this deal gets done without anything cropping up. He sounds like a good addition to the side.

It's a Romano report so hopefully 90% accurate... The first exciting signing not just can do a job type.

I'm struggling to envision the starting line up though.

Pretty sure this is moving us towards a midfield 3 rather than looking for a 10. Aarsonson and Piroe obviously can play the role if needed.

We need big physical athletes in the PL mate.

Sounds like a good signing.

Still need GK, playmaker and striker. We have two PL loan spots available, so should use them.

I think we also need a left sided attacking player. I will be shocked if Harrison stays, need another with Rami. We may get two decent loans in and sign two.

Hope McAtee is a loan possibility with purchase option.

I suspect if they cannot get one of the targeted keepers they may stay with what we have, although Mes is now in the last year of his contract. It would be a very Leeds occurrence for him to finally come of age and then leave on a free.

Has a fellaini look about him. Could be a very useful addition in the middle.

I think Aaronson is rapidly becoming superfluous. He is not at the level this squad is building towards for a PL season.

Formation could be interesting. Farke has been known to use 4-1-4-1, but that may be risky.
He does have a squad now that gives him options.

I think so, Farke did a lot of work on Piroe, it took a long time with him, but towards the end of last season he came up with the goods that Piroe needed players like Firpo/Bogle/James/Aaronson/Gnonto etc all smothering into the box so Piroe could come into his own, find space and bang them in, not sure it will work against the top teams, but the rest it could.

Still think we need another though, and another, and another, 3 players that is.

This is very possible that he's looking to getting ready to have to deploy it in some games, a very welcome positive move

You do realise Piroe was high quality when he arrived?
