It's a poorly balanced squad.

1 senior number 9.
1 natural number 10.
2 fit cms Roca and Adams, after that nobody.

I never wanted Marsch either if you remember, I wanted Valverde.

Never felt he was a good fit, not surprised it hasn't worked.

But the squad is poor imo (know you disagree).
I can possible know that, I use my eyes not look at a ream of numbers on a stat sheet. What you mean is you can't possibly know that. Gyabi is probably the best passer of a ball at the club already. We really can't get much do much worse than an out of form and fitness Paddy who's never been able to head a ball really unless he gets lucky...

Daallas would call himself a right winger but plays left back or centre mid, even defensive mid, Struijk is absolutely a left back and a bloody good one.. irrespective of what he calls himself. Stop thinking in pigeon holes

No point bothering with him, you just repeat yourself ad infinitum. Unfortunately some can't see the wood for the trees.

Absolutely agree with this, but with the current board and their attitude to investment, would any 'decent manager', i.e. proven successful head coach in a genuinely top league look at Leeds United as a good move?

We are what 16th?

Is our squad any better than that?

Even teams like Bournemouth have more first team experience on there bench
How many of our players get in other sides? Sini and that's it probably.

I dunno Jay

I'm no expert.

Managers have a style and generally stick to it as we saw with Bielsa.

He has to work with the players he has, how else do we set up?

We can't go long really, not got that sort of burly number 9.

Sit back and hit on the break?

Can't see our defence being able to play like that.

Marsch needed a bigger squad and more round pegs.

More number 10s, more depth in cm behind Roca and Adams, better left back, another proper striker.

He has definitely been shortchanged imo.

But fundamentally his style isn't working and I am sure deep down Jesse knows that.

He is a manager who has questioned himself before at Leipzig so I am sure he is under no illusion

You've got half a team here trying to get used to each other after such a glowing performance v Leicester.

He's forced to trust Firpo but then disturbs the CH's and all the defence.

He starts PB when all the front 4 were playing fine together , bar Rodrigos leave of his senses

You drop Jack and switch Aaronson into his position thus asking Rasmus to get to know Summerville as fast as he can in Aaronson spot ...which probably threw Rasmus and Aaronson as they seemed to be striking up a good partnership down that right side.

A total balls up from start to finish - He tried to rotate and got it all completely wrong, simple as.
My take too. Agree with trying to lower workload on Cooper in a 3 game week. But not resting him when Strujik was injured and Fripo comes in for his first start since last season. That's idiotic in my opinion.

It was the perfect game to chance Firpo in: bottom of the table team low in confidence. Thing is, we are always w@nk against the worst teams. At least we know how bad Firpo is now! Absolute waste of money...

You know that but Premier league managers and coaches don't?

Gyabi is the best passer of the ball at the club based on u21 games? You are wasted at your present job then, should be a Premier League scout.

You are making assumptions based on your own bias, you dont know what you say because you can't know it for certain unless you are saying you know better than football professionals and coaches and scouts.

No player can be properly judged before first team football, think that would be agreed by anyone involved in football.

Youth football is no judge of a players true ability

I'd say Roca is the best passer at the club incidentally and that is based on watching him play in La Liga and in first team matches against fellow first team players.

We can agree to disagree on this then.

Players specialise in 1 role for a reason, it's better to be master of 1 then jack of all trades.

We should in our 3rd Premier league season have natural players in every role.

Marsch is wroing on that one. Marsch has to go I'm afraid...

I just don’t believe the way we set up is going to work on a regular basis. A big performance here or there is not enough for safety. Is that his fault, no I don’t think so, not completely anyway. But ultimately we need someone who “maybe” can do something with the squad we have with maybe a couple of additional players. But who? Don’t see anyone out there

Not that many I'd imagine

Certainly Wolves, Villa, Leicester, Everton wouldn't take many if any.

Brentford probably not either and Brighton.

None of Spurs, Manure, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Newcastle.

That leaves 5 teams at best

All the La Liga signings have been an expensive mistake.

We need new owners.

We are as good as any side outside the top six between the 18 yard boxes. Unfortunately it is box play that wins and loses matches.
Both goals were defensive f**k ups that. That could have been easily avoided.
Attacking wise we have Bamford who is good if afforded room but lacks the physicality and athleticism to be a prolific 9 in the modern game at this level. Rodrigo plays too deep - which upsets the balance of the team if he plays 9. He hasn’t got the patience to play on the last defender’s shoulder or make those runs into the box on a regular basis. Again not suited to this league in my opinion.

In the 15 mins he played Joffy’s body language looks off to me. That zest and desire he exuded last season looks diminished. He needs a run in the side - but cannot see it happening.

Aaronson and Sini look good as did Summerville in bursts. He also needs a run of games as he could improve significantly.

Our biggest concern right now is scoring - we are fecked if we cannot find an answer to that because we are not good enough defensively to not concede.

Anyone care to wager a bet that Marsches future all hinges upon the Fulham game?
Another display and result like that and we could all be witnessing Jesse Marsch disappearing into the Thorpe Marshes never to be seen again.
Can't see this board sacking him....egg on face and all that . Then there's finances. It would cost millions so I reckon they'll give him until it's looking odds on we're going down before doing anything but they'll tell him they want a significant improvement after the world cup...just to put him in the picture like.

The squad depth is abysmal. We have no Premier League quality players outside our starting eleven. NONE of the U21's are good enough. Including Gnonto. And frankly he has the best pedigree of all of them. Maybe this is a failure of English football. Those players should be loaned out not playing for the U21's in empty stadiums.

Truly talented players are playing first team football somewhere by the time they are 19 years old. Aaronson and Adams were both in the starting eleven of MLS teams by age 18. Both made their Senior USA debut before their 19th birthday. Both were in Europe playing Champion's League football by the age of 20. And both walked right into the starting eleven of LUFC.

We all are to some degree.

You 100% are.
