You were dog sh**e under Steve Bruce. Totally different team under Howe and significant investment. No comparisons to be made.

You play down your team so much , from a Newcastle fans point of view, Marsch is not an improvement on Marcelo.BGwhite wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 5:56 pm We are incapable of keeping possession when being harassed quickly. More than 3 passes in possession is an achievement. It's just one of the reasons why we have to soak up so much pressure and rely on the opposition fluffing chance after chance. You had the chances to make it a cricket score but meslier and a bit of luck combined with you lot being wasteful is the reason why we came away with a point.

You guys were great to watch under Marcelo a possession based team that tries to win the ball high up the park, better than the likes of Brighton that are a possession based team , marsch has changed that to a team that invites pressure.

Significant investment is that after all the years of nothing and neglect
Howe has improved the same player's Bruce had,Wilson, Almiron, Schar,Longstaff.

I did say on the opening page of this thread that we'd bounce back & get something today.Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 5:45 pm Great point, which most of us didn’t expect us to pick up. Get innnnn.
And we pissed the Geordies off at home.

I did say before the WC they can't win every week, so I could see us getting something. Just hope we can get 3 points on Weds, but I can't see WH losing 6 games in a row. :/

It was an awful, scrappy game, Spotty & yes we rode our luck at times. I'm extremely happy with a pointSpotty wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 5:48 pm As a Toon, that's a great point for Leeds. I don't like the hype associated with us being in the top four, Champions League positions etc. Much prefer the low profile, play down expectations. We are a fairly good side and I expect us to finish 7th or 8th. Also expect Leeds to survive comfortably.
Football can be great, but sometimes like today, it's desperate.. Our lack of quality in front of goal was cringe worthy. You need some luck and it deserted us today. Just an awful game between 2 bang average sides.

Toon were unlucky not to win today, but we battled hard. Luck evens out, we should’ve got all 3 against Arsenal.
Aaronson needs a spell on the bench once Sinisterra and Summerville are both healthy and able to start. Ayling was bad, we should try Drameh as a RB rotation when needed instead of him.
The next important position to be upgraded after we get Wober in is midfield. Forshaw should nowehere be near the starting lineup.
A huge couple of months coming up!

I was going for 2-2, then changed my mind to 1-2 Leeds.Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 6:10 pm You did Leon, and I predicted 1-1 in the Correct Scorers, aren’t we just the ones?![]()
I’m very happy with that point.
Another point on the scoreboard for you, Davy

Re: Newcastle Utd v Leeds Utd Match Thread
It was awful, the number of fouls we gave away was ridiculous.
But it's a massive point and could be crucial at the end of the season.
Newcastle have some huge players in the team and they relied mainly on Trippier crossing it into the box, most of which we dealt with comfortably.
