Not sure how anyone can say 'no chance' of going back up. We could JUST as easily be sat on 7-9 points given the balance of the 3 games so far. 2 weeks of the window left and money to spend now. I may be wrong and at the end of the season feel free to rub it in my face (as an Everton fan I am sure you will be delighted) but I choose to support the team not get on their case after 3 promising games where they have been F***ed in the a**e by players like Gnonto downing tools. He is part of the problem at the moment.

Always found this line of argument interesting... on my current salary as a 4th year teacher no as it would make it impossible for me to live with my mortgage etc. But when you're talking about him earning what my annual salary is in a week. Even a 50% paycut takes him significantly above the average.

What other people earn is irrelevant, am sure if the school you are at said you were getting a 50% pay cut you'd be off if another school kept you at your current wages.

I agree wages are obscene but you still wouldn't take a pay cut in their position unless you absolutely loved the club - I can imagine KP stayed at us on lower wages than Villa were offering him but that is becuase he was a Leeds fan and all his family are. If we'd not got promoted the following year KP would have been off.

I wasn't even talking about Leeds or last season but seeing as you just did then I don't know what you were watching last season, Everton survived by the skin of their teeth it was only the sheer fact that we were as bad and if we had a decent striker he might have capitalised on all those missed chances we had and kept us up, that and sacking Marsch earlier.

Everton will struggle again this season.

He isn't. He's on the same wages he'd be with us. Again, why shouldn't players be punished for bad performances? They were happy to milk the bonuses for finishing 17th.

He isn't. The clauses were that they get the pay cut but that if any club offered to pay their full wages they can leave - otherwise why would they agree to the pay reduction? You wouldn't say yes I will take a 50% reduction but I can leave if another club pays my wages at the 50% reduction rate.

You assume everyone is driven by money. You don’t go in to the teaching profession or the medical profession if you are driven by money but footballers clearly are and it’s a perennial excuse to do as you please. As well as being 19 of course. N-n-n-n nineteen.

Maybe in Britain (although I believe doctors are relatively well paid by British standards) but you're way off regarding the medical profession over here. It's a "for maximum profit" system and surgeons and doctors are extremely well paid and I believe that many sectors of nursing are also very well paid.
